Just returned from 4 nights on Wonder 03/02/08-03/06/08

I am enjoying reading about your cruise. We will be on our first cruise starting June 1 and will be staying in 7052 on the Wonder. We have two children - a DS 10 and a DD 4. Any tips you have would be so helpful. Can't wait for your next post.
AWW YOU GET TO STAY IN "OUR" ROOM...YOU WILL LOVE IT!! IT IS SO QUIET AND CLOSE TO EVERYTHING. GOOD SUNRISES AND YOU GET TO SEE ALL THE PORTS. THE KIDS LOVE THAT THE BED COMES OUT OF THE CEILING..HA

We walked to the hut where you do the Stingray Adventure and sat down to wait. They give you snorkel and mask and a lifejacket thingy. Everyone was busy trying to figure out how to get air into it (very funny to watch!) and just relaxing in the shade. When everyone was there a very nice and knowledgable man came out and started telling us all about the rays and their habitat. At this same time I noticed a man behind me being mean to his son (maybe 3 or 4 yrs old). This was the first time I have ever witnessed what could truely be called abuse. He kicked the little boy and then picked him up by his head and carried him out of the hut. I was so angry my husband starts asking me whats wrong and at the same time the man comes back and sits with the little boy (who at this point I can tell has had this happen before) and the "grandparents" and mom start laughing like haha you got in trouble. Let me just say it took everything in me not to tackle this man and kick him in the face! My Dh calmed me down and I complained later when the child wasn't there. What can you do when you don't know the person. :sad1: Anyway after that we went down to the beach and my DS freaked out and wouldn't go into the water with the rays so my DH took him and they got ice cream. Me and DD had a good time feeding them and then snorkeling with them. After that it was time for lunch. Cookies BBQ is fantastic! I just wish they had "real" BBQ sandwiches..lol...But the hot dogs and ribs were wonderful. After that we went back to the beach and laid out until about 4 oclock and headed back to the ship. So sad to be leaving such a beautiful paradise! We went back to the room and changed clothes and laid around for a while. We had dinner at Tritons again and as tonight was "Pirate Night" it was so much fun!! They took my DS around in a conga line and did the limbo to cool music. DD had left to get a pic with Mickey in his pirate gear. The actual dinner was very very good (you must try the tenderloin!!) and dessert was even better (white chocolate cheescake). My DH told our server that he didn't want dessert because he was so full and guess what they brought him 1 of everything...haha...then he really was full! One piece of advice I do have for people is to bring rolaids and tummy meds because if your anything like us you don't eat like this all the time and our tummys paid the price..ha..After dinner the kids went to the clubs to play for a while and we went on a quiet stroll on the upper decks. Now time for the "Pirate Party" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Really enjoying reading your trip report. The pictures are great. Can't wait to hear about pirate night.

When we went to dinner at Tritons they had bandanas waiting for everyone. I was suprised to see just about everyone put theirs on! DH and kids played with theirs to figure out just how to wear them..ha..so cute! I will post pics of them. During dinner you are given a "treasure map" as your menu. I kept these and scrapbooked them..Dinner was wonderful and DS was pulled into a dance with all the kids and they did the limbo around the room. He had so much fun. After dinner the kids went to club and me and DH wandered around a bit. We picked the kids up just as the party was starting. They were so tired from the day that I wasn't sure they would make it for the whole party. We saw tables lined with food just waiting for us to eat. We had to go up to deck 10 because there was so many people. We found a spot where the kids could sit on the floor by the rails and watch. Lucky I videoed the whole thing! They really go all out for this party! Lots of dancing, lots of characters and lots of fun for everyone. I don't want to give the whole thing away just because it is so amazing to watch but near the end Mickey "saves" the day in an extraordinary way and just as he does the fireworks begin. Can I just say tears came to my eyes because I was just so happy we had splurged to do something so different and had had the time of our lives! I am teary eyed talking about it now..lol....After the fireworks they kids stood up and they were so tired we had to practically carry them to the room. So no food for us...oh well it's not like we hadn't been eating for 3 days straight anyway! This party was unbelieveable and unforgetable! I will be forever grateful to Disney for this experience!! That night we had a crab as our little towel friend and the kids had been given "gifts" from Disney and they were waiting in the room also. We crashed and all slept like babies!! Next up our day at sea!!!!!!!!!

Love the report! But, that's a towel LOBSTER, not a crab. You can tell by the tail, and the jointed back.

Really cute kids...looks like you had a blast.

hey thank you SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much for all the wonderful tips! How awesome that you all were picked for such a cool "dream"!! We had booked the 7 day eastern for next Dec(09) but we have never cruised before and i have fears of DH getting woozy or even one of our DD's. SOO, i got a quote this morning for the 4 night and this sounds perfect for our first cruise. I need to come back to your TR with a pad and pen to write down all the great tips. I WILL take them into consideration. Not sure abou the Bahamas. can you just find a beach there and hang out?? Or is it all touristy stuff? Was thinking of the Atlantis thing but on our own. Not wantig to spend a lot on excursions. We are a lay out on the beach and bake/swim in the ocean type family. Don't want to schedule ourselves to pieces!!

I don't know about the whole beach thing. I am sure you can we were just scared to venture to far on our own..lol...At the end of my report I am going to give all my "tips" I can think of. Hope you can use them!!

We woke up around 8:30 or so (the latest we had slept the whole time) and decided to go to Parrot Cay for breakfast. During breakfast we had the nicest server. He really paid attention to my DS. He made him origami out of his cereal top..lol...Minnie Mouse also came around and took pics with the kids. We hung out taking our time and enjoying the last bit of quiet in the am. After that we went back to our room to change and go to the pool. We decided that the kids would stay together and me and DH would finally be allowed to go to the adult only pool. WOW!! We had such a great time. We hung out in the hot tubs and met a wonderful couple from Indiana. The only reason we got out was so we wouldn't be prunes anymore. We had told the kids if they needed us to just come up on the top deck and we would look for them but of course we never saw them. DS and DD were both chillin in the hot tub. Watchin the big screen! Me and DH decided to sit up on deck and watch the big screen for a while so we watched High School Musical..ha..it was funny to see DH get all engrossed in the movie..:happytv: After that we went to change for lunch. My how time flies on your day at sea...:sad1:

Great, fantastic, fabulous. I can't think of any more words. You really put the story together. I'm looking forward to reading your tips.
I still haven't booked my vacation. I really need to decide what I'm going to do.

I've really enjoyed your report, and thanks for all the pictures! Especially seeing the stuffed characters on the bed - that reminded me to add ours to our packing list so our cabin steward might have some fun with them for the children.

I am getting married on the Wonder in November....YOur Trip Report has me all excited!
