We checked in to our preferred studio on Saturday, December 27. We arrived at 10:30 a.m. (We had spent Friday night at the Grosvenor -- okay but just a hotel.) I got to choose! There were three BoardWalk view studios ready. I chose 4015 -- not quite above Big River but almost down that far. (We like to be down there.)

The castmembers were all spectacular. We've been members for three years now and have never received a "Welcome Home" (either at BoardWalk -- our home resort -- or at OKW where we've stayed once). This time, every cast member we met at check in said, "Welcome Home!" and meant it. The young man who checked us in played with my 8 year old DS and gave him tips and pointers. I've never seen a CM at BWV check in spend time with my child like that. The man who delivered our luggage stopped to talk even though it was the height of check out time (11:00). It was truly magical.

Our room was beautiful and as quiet as any BoardWalk view room ever is. It had been cleaned thoroughly, and I saw no evidence of excessive wear and tear.

We used the pool on several occasions (the weather, oh the weather! -- 70's and mid 80's!) and found chairs easily. People who were sitting at tables were always happy to share one or two chairs, and that was a nice way of getting to know others, too.

We only used the bus service once from BWV. We went to early entry at MK on Sunday. Yes, we were at the bus stop at 6:00 a.m. Arggggg. The bus showed up at 6:10, and we were at the MK and in line by 6:25. (There were only two families on the bus. We laughed all the way there.) My DS got to open the park that morning, but alas, our pictures of it did not turn out because they are TOO DARK. Our only transportation glitch came with the boat to MGM. It did not start running until 30 minutes before MGM opening (instead of 1 hour as usual), so we waited out at the dock for longer than I had hoped, but we still made it on to ToT and RnR without much trouble, so I won't complain.

Well, that's pretty much all the DVC issues. We had a most magical trip. We were showered with pixie dust on more occasions than I can name, and we loved the Polynesian. (Moved over there on 12/31 -- couldn't get a BWV room for 12/31 or 1/1 and didn't want to fool with the wait list.) But I'll post more about that on the resort board. Let me know if you've got questions I haven't covered here.

We leave for an 8 day trip on Friday. It's always good to hear the postive reviews. Glad you had a great trip!

So glad you had a great trip and so many positives about the BWV!

About that photo - do you mean it was still dark out so even a flash didn't help - or did they just come out dark? If you had a digital, then try to lighten it up. If you had a film camera - get that negative onto a CD at a photo place and see if you can lighten the pic with photo editing software. Send me a PM if you want more info. I just went digital and am so glad I did! Although it doesn't work well at night and I will stay with film for that - the day and indoor shots are great. And if they are too dark a little edit bring them back to the light!

Hi,

Thanks for sharing such a magical trip!

Kathleena,
The shots are digital. I haven't started to play with them, and I can definitely see him in them, but they're never going to be good shots. I wish I'd learned to use the low light functions more effectively! Oh well. I think I'll be able to lighten them up a bit, and I'll definitely keep them. (How many times do you get shots of your child opening the MK before the sun comes up?)

Thanks for the advice!
Julie
