If you were to do just a resort stay and not any of the parks, which resort would you choose & why?

TIA! :goodvibes

That depends.... do you want it to remind you that you're in Disneyworld or just on a "vacation"?

AKL. So much to See & Do. Good & many food choices.

Beach Club, SAB and the atmosphere is great and being able to see the fireworks. It is a mini vacation being at the resort.

I agree - the BC. There are so many resorts nearby you can walk or boat to.

Have fun.

:)

Tough question. I actually love all of the resorts, minus the CSR and the values. Beach Club, Yacht Club, Dolphin, Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Saratoga Springs, Old Key West....

When we go, we really try to rotate so we can try all of the resorts. For our upcoming trip, we are doing a split stay at the Poly and Yacht Club. Old Key West is next for us.

I think AKL is gorgeous.... but after considering it and researching it long and hard... we really couldn't find much "to do" besides the pool, the bead activity, and maybe a trip or two out to the lobby and then the "rock" for some animal viewing and photos. If you have been there let me know what there is to do, I'd really appreciate it!

SSR - due to it's quick access to DTD

... and we love the resort.

Beach Club. Storm A Long Bay is awesome.

You can go to the Boardwalk, go to movies and campfires on the beach, play all the pool games if you are into that.

Have ice cream at Beaches and Cream. Walk over to the Boardwalk to seaside sweets or the bakery, rent a surrey bike, watch the fireworks from the bridge.

Just take a boat ride on the friendship.

Yacht Club. SAB, Boardwalk nearby, mini golf down the street.

Any of the Epcot resorts would be nice for a resort only stay. You have five resorts within easy walking distance, a lot of exploring to do!
Restaurant choices would be plentiful as well.

I did a solo, eight day no parks/all resort trip two years ago, and I stayed at POR.

Wonderful food court and restaurant.
Access to DTD and shopping, lots of restaurants, etc.
Quiet pool; good for reading during the day while everyone else is in the parks.
Really spread out and quiet when everyone is gone all day.
Access to a riverview room; pulled my chair out in the aisleway and watched the world go by.
Great pool side bar.
Great lounge with entertainment.
Easy access to the DTD buses and water taxi at night after ADR's at the resorts.

BCV, CR or Poly, club level.

Because if I didn't have to shell out $1000 for park tickets for the three of us, I could afford to stay here! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I would choose Grand Floridian (that's my choice for any of these polls - I really want to stay at GF lol!). But then again, I don't think I'd want to pay those prices and then not benefit from the parks (not that I would ever do that). Beach Club would be a close second - I'd like to see it and Polynesian.

I have to say.. the Polynesian. I want to feel like I'm on an island, but yet close enough to see MK- the Castle! I want to be able to swim at the pool or sit on the sand and watch the fireworks. I don't mind watching the EWP while I'm swinging on the hammock. I can easily take a nice ride on the monorail to make a round loop to MK and Epcot. TTC is only a short walk away. If I want a character meal, it's right there. I don't have to leave the resort. If I want a luau, there's the Spirit of Aloha! They have a nice volcano pool with 0 depth entry. The Polynesian is the place to be if you want the island flare! :)

We're doing a Beach Club resort only stay next week! :thumbsup2 First time staying there, we're hoping it keeps us busy for the 4 night trip. Will be too hot for the parks for us.

For us it would be the Poly :). We love the tropical theme and the volcano pool is our favorite out of all of the resorts we've stayed at and it's nice to have the beach, which is great for relaxing in a hammock watching the fireworks :cloud9:. It's also in a great location as it's just a monorail ride away from the GF and CR where you will find alot of dining and shopping options without going too far from your resort :goodvibes.

When we visit the parks, we always stay at a monorail resort, but this past Disney cruise, we stayed a few nights pre-cruise at POR. We did not hit the parks, and there was much to do. They have movies every night, poolside games and activities, nightly marshmallow roasts at the campfire, Yeehaw Bob, the boat to DTD. The price was right. We were there during Easter Vacation, so a visit to the parks were out.

You can also rent bikes, searaycers, etc... It was a really cute resort. PLUS, you have 2 feature pools you can swim in. My kids LOVED it. Plus the Alligator Bayou rooms were renovated. They rotated who got to sleep in the little bed.
