Just Relaxin’ on the Wonder – Nowhere, Nothing, Nada. - Complete! and Final Thoughts

DSCN6898.jpg

UH OH!! Costume alert!!!! (sorry, I couldn't help myself!)

Eh hemmmmm.....

I had to chuckle when you said you didn't want a big sit down breakfast! After seeing all those choices, oy! We'd have eaten that and then not needed anything else all day long. HAHA! Fran's cracking me up! "Her activities..." LOL! I need a cruise.

sunrise photos

Beautiful! Did you manage to get the ND filterS yet?

popcorn::

At home my breakfast is often a bowl of corn flakes, V8 and coffee. I was sort of looking for the same taste of home, but with all the options, I couldn’t resist grabbing some extra fruit and a donut as well.

I just had lunch. Now I'm hungry again. The buffet looks amazing!

Stitch was out in his pirate outfit and he had no line, so we jumped on it!

Oh! What a fantastic picture.

We headed into the adult pool area and it was completely deserted.

Good moving staying on the ship!

I wanted a picture in my Dalek Dress

Love it! Looks great!

a shot of espresso mixed with vanilla ice cream. It was a very hot day, and for me it really hit the spot.

I just had lunch. Now I'm hungry again. The iced coffee looks amazing!

lunch at Triton’s again.

I just had lunch. Now I'm hungry again. Lunch looks amazing!

:rotfl2:

Captain Jack did was grab my necklace pendant

Ooh! Naughty Jack!

Great pictures and how fun that Fran dressed up early.

We were in the harbor at Cabo when I realized that the sun had not yet risen, and we were on the correct side of the ship for pictures.

Looks like a gorgeous spot.

Hooray! Here are those sweet sunrise photos I was promised!

I love the way that morning sun plays on the local scenery, this picture doesn’t really show it, but it is still really pretty with the rising sun.

I think it looks wonderful. Always cool to see all the shadows play across the landscape.

She wanted some oatmeal with too much brown sugar.

No such thing.:rolleyes1

Soon Fran succumbed to her natural desires.

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

So at 2PM we went to see Bridge of Spies. It was a great movie and an enjoyable way to spend the afternoon on the cruise.

Yes! Terrific movie.

I was this close!

:rotfl2:

 I'm surprised you got away with only 10!

And just wait until you see the next two updates!

Oh, that's right!

So now you know I wasn't lying.

Ha. Sounds like me.
"Aaaahhh... this is the life. Good book. Comfy chair. Nice scenery. Nice weather... So. Whadya wanna do now?"

Pretty much.

Yup! So I need to get going again.

He does that, doesn't he?
Just (re-) watched Schindler's List the other day.

Not an easy film to watch.

I've never seen it. I'm not good with films with unhappy story lines.

Did you get off the ship while you were in Cabo?

Nope. We already had decided that those tender boats were going to be too precarious for Fran to be hopping on and off.

Looks like a nice relaxing day on the ship. Not a thing at all wrong with that!

I loved the parrot on the shoulder with Jack Sparrow. :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

It's pretty rare for us to do almost nothing like that, so it was rather enjoyable. The parrot guy was pretty funny!

UH OH!! Costume alert!!!! (sorry, I couldn't help myself!)

I know! How are they going to differentiate between what is and isn't a costume? I guess anything mildly considered a costume is going t have to be allowed. They sell dresses like that in the park, just with a droid theme. Someone could show up with a dress like that as their costume with a few props and how can they say "no"?

Eh hemmmmm.....

I had to chuckle when you said you didn't want a big sit down breakfast! After seeing all those choices, oy! We'd have eaten that and then not needed anything else all day long. HAHA! Fran's cracking me up! "Her activities..." LOL! I need a cruise.

But see, you have to understand the whole "too much to eat" cruise mentality! I ended up just having some cereal, coffee, V8 and broke down with the donut, fruit, sausage and cheeses. I could have done a whole lot more damage (like Fran did) by eating waffles, and all sorts of other stuff.

Beautiful! Did you manage to get the ND filterS yet?

popcorn::

Well I got one, but it doesn't fit the zoom lens, which is what I would use for the fireworks or sunrise photos. :sad2: But I didn't have it, or the new lens on this cruise.

I just had lunch. Now I'm hungry again. The buffet looks amazing!

I think I could use one of those right now!

Oh! What a fantastic picture.

Thank you! :goodvibes

Good moving staying on the ship!

Yeah, we've been doing a lot of that.

Love it! Looks great!

Thanks! :goodvibes

:rotfl2:

You're funny! I haven't had breakfast yet and posting my next update is going to make me hungry!

Ooh! Naughty Jack!

Great pictures and how fun that Fran dressed up early.

He was a hoot! She had a good time dressing up.

Looks like a gorgeous spot.

I really enjoyed looking out at the harbor from my verandah.

Hooray! Here are those sweet sunrise photos I was promised!

See! I deliver what I promise....eventually!

I think it looks wonderful. Always cool to see all the shadows play across the landscape.

One of the reasons I don't mind getting up early on vacations, especially better when you don't have to get all the way dressed up and fancy to see it!

No such thing.:rolleyes1

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

She likes her nap time!

Yes! Terrific movie.

:thumbsup2

We left off having taken pictures with Jack Sparrow and were heading up to Palo for our dinner.

Hristo was again our server and he started us off with a nice healthy plate of Antipasto.

And the bread service

Fran had a Margarita.

I had my regular Belvedere Gibson up.

The room is so pretty.

And then there is us.

Fran started off with the Tuscan Bean Soup

We both split the Calamari

And the Caprese Salad

For her Primi Platti, Fran went with one of my favorites, the Lobster Mascarpone Ravioli. She let me have a couple bites.

I tried something new that I had always been curious about, the Beef Ravioli en Brodo. It was good, but not nearly as good as the Lobster Mascarpone Ravioli.

Then they served us the palate cleanser.

Then it was time for the Main Course. Fran opted for the Filet, she enjoyed it very much.

As usual I went for the Rack of Lamb.

It was served with some wonderful potatoes as well.

We both decided on a dessert drink. I went with the traditional Chocolate Martini while Fran went for something similar. I don’t remember all the differences, but hers didn’t have Vodka, but there was Bailey’s, Frangelico, and several other liquers.

And of course the Famous Palo Chocolate Souffle

Hristo also brought us this dessert. I don’t remember what it was, but it had a tiny cannoli on top and was filled with some sort of mousse. It was good, but we were pretty full by this point.

This is a digestive aid, and if memory serves me correctly we had them fill these glasses several times.

After saying goodbye to Hristo (we would see him again in about 12 hours) we headed back to the room. We both agreed that we were in too much of a food coma to watch the fireworks, so we just went to bed.

Your meal at Palo looks lovely! I've always been pleased with the food and service there :) Looks like you were able to enjoy many different options!

I've never seen that. Do you know what is in it? Did it work well for you?

Where did you get the pink dress? I feel like I am being a dress stalker, but your dresses are fantastic.

Oh Palo! How do I miss thee! popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn:: Everything looked so yummy, wow!

I'm glad Lucifer is getting in on the action tonight.

Looks like you had a nice dinner. That souffle looks really good. Love that the Cabin Steward uses your little Lucifer in the display.

I hope that you enjoy the ship.

We loved the Splendour and had an amazing time. I will get around to doing a trip report eventually, but without giving away too much, I think DCL might have been knocked off its pedestal.

I very much enjoyed all the photos of the costumes both from the guests and the characters. The photo with Cruella and Fran is great. I really like your costume. Dinner looked lovely and I love the idea of having the pasta pursettes as an entree. I may have to do did when I get back on the Wonder.

I loved the photos of the sunrise and the way the colours played on the scenery. Any day that starts with meeting Stitch is a good day in my opinion. It looks like you had a really lovely and relaxing day. Palo dinner looked amazing.

Corinna

I absolutely love your report! And OMG I soooooo want one of those chocolate soufflés right now! They were insanely good. We are doing Palo brunch in February but I might have to squeeze in dinner as well JUST for that alone

And the bread service

mmm... bread. I'll take bread over anything!

Fran had a Margarita.

Did someone say Margarita?
Screw the bread! Gimme one of those!

And then there is us.

I meant to ask. Who do you usually get to take your photos?
Your server? Or is that Photopass?

We both split the Calamari

How was it? I rarely order it since it seems to always be over-cooked.

And the Caprese Salad

Looks good. I have to order one of those one of these days!

Then they served us the palate cleanser.

What was that?

We both agreed that we were in too much of a food coma to watch the fireworks, so we just went to bed.

Your meal looks incredible. And I'm glad Hristo took good care of you. But going back in 12 hours??? Will you even be hungry yet?

Lunch at Triton's looks very appetizing. Very nice pic of you and Fran with Captain Jack.

Dinner at Palo looks really good and the dessert at the end looks very nice.

Those chocolate souffle and chocolate martinis are so good.

That meal at Palo looks amazing. It might be well worth getting seasick just to be able to eat there!

thanks for sharing.

Your meal at Palo looks lovely! I've always been pleased with the food and service there :) Looks like you were able to enjoy many different options!

Thanks! Yes, the food and service is always good, and I was really surprised at how many different things we were able to eat. I guess we had exercised our stomachs quite well on the ship!

I've never seen that. Do you know what is in it? Did it work well for you?

Where did you get the pink dress? I feel like I am being a dress stalker, but your dresses are fantastic.

We thought it worked for us. We asked for refills! I found this recipe on the DIS, I had no idea that there was this much alcohol in it.

1 large scoop of lemon sorbet (still frozen hard, not soft)
0.5 oz Absolute Vodka
0.25 oz Limoncello
2 oz Prosecco sparking wine
Dash of egg white

I got the dress from pinupgirlclothing.com I saw several gals at the D23 Expo with the dress and found out about the site from them. There are some great dresses on there. Not cheap but really nice and they come in plus sizes as well.

Oh Palo! How do I miss thee! popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn:: Everything looked so yummy, wow!

I'm glad Lucifer is getting in on the action tonight.

I know! I can't wait until next summer to eat there again! Yeah at least he wasn't in time out again.

Looks like you had a nice dinner. That souffle looks really good. Love that the Cabin Steward uses your little Lucifer in the display.

The dinner was awesome. I'm thinking I need to learn to make that souffle. Actually I really shouldn't. That would be bad.

Very interesting. I'll be looking forward to that TR and you C2C TR as well.

It seems now that DCL will be the only Disney venue where guests will be able to enjoy costumes. I think with this particular menu I will be going with the pursettes as an entree until they put something more appealing on the entree list.

I loved the photos of the sunrise and the way the colours played on the scenery. Any day that starts with meeting Stitch is a good day in my opinion. It looks like you had a really lovely and relaxing day. Palo dinner looked amazing.

Thanks, sunrise photos at sea are one thing that I enjoy. It was a very enjoyable and relaxing day. I need more trips with days like that.

I absolutely love your report! And OMG I soooooo want one of those chocolate soufflés right now! They were insanely good. We are doing Palo brunch in February but I might have to squeeze in dinner as well JUST for that alone

Thanks for joining in! I don't know how someone could skip Palo for dinner! That souffle is worth it alone!

mmm... bread. I'll take bread over anything!

Did someone say Margarita?
Screw the bread! Gimme one of those!

Exactly!

I meant to ask. Who do you usually get to take your photos?
Your server? Or is that Photopass?

In this instance our server took the photo. We did buy the photo package on the cruise, but the character handlers will also take photos with your camera at the photo ops. The ones that the photographers take come out better.

How was it? I rarely order it since it seems to always be over-cooked.

At Palo everything is cooked to perfection! We don't normally order calamari except at higher end restaurants so it's usually good when I've had it. Where have you had it overcooked?

Looks good. I have to order one of those one of these days!

This will not be the last one you see either, on this and future reports. :rolleyes1

What was that?

It was a sorbet or some kind of frozen concoction.

Your meal looks incredible. And I'm glad Hristo took good care of you. But going back in 12 hours??? Will you even be hungry yet?

It was great and yes we were definitely hungry by then as you will soon see.

Lunch at Triton's looks very appetizing. Very nice pic of you and Fran with Captain Jack.

Dinner at Palo looks really good and the dessert at the end looks very nice.

It was a nice day all around from the meals to meeting Captain Jack.

Those chocolate souffle and chocolate martinis are so good.

::yes::

That meal at Palo looks amazing. It might be well worth getting seasick just to be able to eat there!

thanks for sharing.

There are some cruises to places where the waters are calm. If you could get over the seasickness I bet you'd really enjoy a cruise.

Day 7

I woke up again in the middle of the night and either 101 Dalmations was on or I changed the channel to find it and decided that it was good enough as any movie to drowse to. Except I ended up pretty much watching the whole thing from the time that the puppies were already stolen until the end. After that I found Honey I Shrank The Kids and was able to sleep through it, and then after a bio break I found Toy Story on the Pixar channel and mostly slept through it as well as Toy Story 2 & 3. I changed the channel when Bugs Life came on since we saw that the other day. I just love having this middle of the night Disney entertainment on the cruise! At home all there is to sleep through is World News Now.

It was about then that I went out on the verandah to take Sunrise photos. It was fairly dark when I got out there, but the sun comes up quick, so I started snapping away.

38 pictures later, you can see it peeking out from the horizon.

And there it comes

All in all, again I took over 100 photos, and just showed you the top 16 which show the progression. Anyone wanting to see all 100 can contact my secretary, who am I kidding? Like I have a secretary! I AM my secretary! When I got back inside the room I clicked around and found Mary Poppins. I ended up watching that one on and off until the end. When I say on and off it means that I went up to the Cove Café to get a cup of Americano with Cream and some pastries to tide us over until brunch. We had at least a couple hours until it started (since the sun had just come up).

This seems like as good a time as any to show you today’s Navigator.
