Hi All! My sister, her daughter(first trip!!) and myself will be staying at Pop-Century 4/25-4/27 and I was wondering if we will be able to pool hop? I mean from resort to resort are we allowed to swim at other hotels pools? She loves to swim and I remember the pools being kinda plain at Pop. Can anyone recommend a good playground either? She is 4 years old! Thanks for the help!

No. Pool hopping is not allowed unless you are a DVC member staying on points and even then there are some restrictions on pool hopping.

As ohiominnie already said, you cannot pool hop. However, if you can spring for a little bit more, the moderates generally have much nicer pools.

Also, we've found that the water parks are fabulous. Get the fun option on your tickets and go visit the kids play areas at TL and BB.

Pop has several pools and you are welcome to use any of those, but you just can't use another hotels pool.

:confused3 I asked this question, while making my reservations for next week. I asked about renting a boat, from another hotel. The CM told me to just rent a boat at my hotel...Um...hello. Pop isn't on any body of water that rents boats :confused3 So he basically told me to go to the Contemporary, and tell them at the gate, that I'm going shopping...Sheesh...Men...and they will let me in and just to continue to the boat dock and rent the boat. How's that for your honest disney CM...so now I don't know if I'm allowed or not.. I think I will just skip it this time. I rented a boat, while staying at the Contemporary in January and it was a lot of fun!!

My memory of my resort tour (I'm a DVC member and was staying on points so therefore had a pool hopping perk) is that you can't come in and park at the Contemporary (or any other monorail, MK resort, or EP resort) unless your name is on a list with an ADR. However, you are welcome to use Disney transit to go visit--but not to swim. My sense of visiting the resorts was that you might have a tough time renting a boat at the deluxes but that the moderates seemed more open to outsiders. Consider all of this as simply extra information.

As for whether or not you are allowed to rent a boat at another resort, try calling the resort you'd like to rent from. If they say that you can rent from them I'd call back a week later and ask the same question of another CM, just to be sure.

You are allowed to use any of the amenities at other resorts, with the exception of their pool(s). If you want to head over to the Polynesian and rent a MouseBoat, that's fine. Just don't head to the Volcano Pool and plop yourself down and spend the afternoon swimming there. There is signage at every pool in WDW that states that the pool is for the guests staying at that particular resort only. The three pools at POP are a ton of fun. The only difference is that they have no slides. Other than that they are the same as the moderate pools.
My dd, now 13, is a fish...loves the water. But, I have to tell you, she was more than happy in the pools at POP. She loves her home resort of BWV, and Luna Park Pool area. The slide is incredible there. But, when we stay at POP she has no complaints whatsoever about the pools there.

You really don't have to take a car to any of the resorts just to rent a boat, canoe, kayak...whatever. Just head to the nearest park and then take the resort bus from that park. If you want to do something, other than swim, at the CR, Polynesian or GF, just park at the TTC and take the monorail to where you want to go.
