Just paid off BLT

Congratulations! With regards to the interest comment, which was a bit gratuitous, I would offer that while the OP did pay a decent amount of interest, I figure that if you add the 2010 purchase price plus interest it would come to significantly less than what it would cost to purchase BLT points today. Add to that the fact that they have had 9 years of great vacations and I think it worked out just fine.

HI there,

Thanks so much for all the congrats, and to answer someones question, yes the interest was a tad brutal, but we did start the loan with a $1.10 - $1 exchange rate (in our favor), so it kinda evened out for a while. But doing the math, as we only stay deluxe so even when our dollar tanked it was still cheaper than paying OOP for contemporary and GF...ouch!o_O

The best part is we use the points as well for Hawaii, and have been able to gift a honeymoon to one of our sons to aulani for a week, staying ocean view, that alone would have cost us a motza lot. I didn't realise how expensive OOP Aulani was.

So all in all, its been a great spend, and now the money we save we can now put towards our international airfares to MCO...OUCH AGAIN.

This vacationing is not for the faint of heart or wallet :)

Have an awesome weekend everyone :stitch: :simba:

I miss the $1.10 dollar. As soon as we started taking vacations in 2014 the dollar started tanking and has been on a death spiral ever since 😭

Congratulations! Now that the "pre-paid" portion of your vacation purchase is paid off, you can think of your WDW lodging costs as just the annual fees. Makes you feel like you're getting a good deal every time!
