Just on the news... DELTA raises airfare prices...

I just saw the announcement that Delta said the yare raising prices due to gas hike and that the other airlines will be following...

Boy, did they ever! The ticket I bought last week from RDU to MCO for November travel was $117 round trip...today it is $211!!! We all know, though, that airfares are pretty unpredictable so that same ticket may sell for UNDER $100 in a few days. Oh, well...I am happy with the price I got!

Our tickets were $198 per person RT when we first started planning.....then went up to $235 per person RT. We had decided to drive, and then last week the price dropped to $98 per person RT. We jumped on that, and this week the tickets are back up to $145 per person RT. Sure glad we bought when we did. Oh, these prices are from Birmingham, AL to Orlando, in case you were wondering.

I'm glad I got my tickets back in May. The cost was only $531 for the three of us on a nonstop flight. The price is now $1242. Big savings

We also got our October flights at $98/RT per person on Delta. Our airline of choice is Southwest, but we couldn't pass up that fare, especially when SW was offering about that price one way! But, unless that fare is offered again Delta won't be getting our future business. Although the plus with them is the baggage convenience on the return trip, from RDU airport, they only use tiny little planes which you board on the tarmac, with tiny, tiny little overhead compartments (lots of "gate-checked" carry-ons).
