We were there in April and both parks had early entry every day we were there.
Watch closely as that does change.

Our 1st day is May 31st...........and on the app it shows both parks have EPA @ 8:00

sorry, if I wasn't clear....I'm not going today. I'm going May 31st. Right now, on the app, that day shows both parks open early.
I'm trying to decide which is better to go to for EPA. All other days we are there, only IOA is early.

I was just wondering, with both opening early, would this "possibly" help thin the crowd a little for Hagrid's?

I would still go to Hagrid’s. That is the longest line you will encounter during your trip… by far.

Unless, you really want to use your wand in Diagon or ride Gringots first thing stick with IOA.

the more I looked at it, I have to agree with you!!

Went today to IOA Early Opening.
8 am opening.
Was in line outside the gates well before it opened.
Went straight to Hagrids.
Upon arrival 180 minute wait, within 20 minutes it was 240 minute.
Finally dropped in 85 range after a few hours.
Virtually no food location was open so eat before you go.
Most rides were not open.
One son went straight to Velocicoaster.
He road 2x then it jumped to an hour wait.
With only a couple rides open, one being intense - most went to Hagrids ... unless Velocicoaster were our goal not sure I'd kill myself to be there.
