Just need to know others out there have a parent living with them who can drive them

insane! My dad is the most stubborn person in the world who thinks his way is the only way and he is oblivious to any damage he does. Let me also say, he is a very good person and would do anything for us, which makes me feel guilty for wanting to hide in my room somethimes (in my own home!)....just now I hear him go outside and realize it's garbage night, but i am praying he is not taking out the garbage because my Jeep is parked very close to the gate....I go outside and yep, he opens the gate into the Jeep. I tell him to just tell me and I will move it next time and he's arguing it's fine, he had room....NO there is a white mark on the bumper, which I'm sure will come off, that's not the point. He wanted to take it out so nothing was going to stop him....even damaging someone's car. AHHHH....just venting. Thanks.

P.S. He also scratched a former car the same way! DH was not a happy camper. At least he's gotten better with throwing out my mail! When he first moved in he would throw out what he considered junk mail...you can't decide that for someone else!

Aww, hunny, you have my sympathy. I could never live with my mother. She didn't like me much when I DID live with her back in my teens. I love her dearly, but please, don't ask me to live with her--she talks almost NON-STOP, won't get off the couch to do anything for herself(unless there is food involved), tells me what to do and where to go(I'm 53), and generally tries to boss me around. Of course, I just ignore that, which makes her even crazier. So I guess it's a good thing that we live 400 miles apart. Distance DOES make the heart grow fonder(and more tolerant)

It sounds like you love him very much, and it's OK to get frustrated at his habits. Like the other PP said, it's hard to live with other people--especially when you have different feelings on certain matters (my DH used to throw away mail and other things I didn't want thrown away, so I can relate to that).
