Just need some support for those who have gone through the loss of a loved one

I am so sorry that you are going through this. It is so terrible to loose a loved one and especially how you are loosing your mother. It is long and drawn out and seems to last forever.

I lost my dad 6 years ago to pneumonia. He only lasted a few weeks and that seemed like forever. It was terrible but I survived. My FIL passed away almost a year ago and his problems lasted a little over two months from when his symptoms started. The worst part with him is the lack of dignity given to him during his multiple hospitalizations. It was terrible and we are still suffering emotionally from that. I am astonished how terrible he was treated in the hospitals. Terrible!

My heart goes out to you.....I watched my 14 year old godson who I love like he was my own boy slowly die. He went from an active black belt in karate to someone who couldn't walk, move his arm or speak more than a "yea" and a "no"...I went to see him every day while he was still at home and when he went in to the hospital for the last week I was there every day for most of the day, he died a few hours after I went home but I know that I spent as much time with him as I could when he was alive. He died about 20 days before I was supposed to be taking him on the Disney cruise in May 2002 but I miss him as much today as the day he died. I still can't talk about him without breaking up, its not as bad as the first few months but I still break up at times.
