Just my luck

This is my first thread, but I thought I would give some of you a chuckle. We leave for the world in just over a week, and I am now in an orthopedic boot.

I actually fell off the stairs in my garage while taking out the newspaper, and I bruised the bone in my foot. Apparently a bruised bone can hurt as much as a broken bone, or at least that's what my PA said (possibly in an attempt to make me not feel like such a whiner). So I am now in the "boot" for at least 2 weeks, so I can take it off half way through my vacation.

I swear only I could do something this silly right before my trip! I am a walking...hobbling calamity.

How lame! Well, make sure to rent a wheelchair so you can use the handicapped line on all the rides!

I know how you feel, I tripped over a newspaper actually and broke my foot three years ago when I was in college... had to make the 8-hour drive back to school in the boot, go through RA training in the boot.... let me tell you how much fun that is in VA in August (so hot!). Actually it's not that awful though... at least with the boot you can walk on it, so you should be able to have a fairly normal vacation. Take some ibuprofin in the morning to keep the aches down, and schedule some pool time to cool it off and get the weight off of it. Good luck!

I get ZERO sympathy at home. Whenever I have to hobble in or out of the room, my husband makes Frankenstein sound effects because of my new swagger!

Sorry to hear that! Take care of that foot! About a week before I left for WDW last year I had my ankle smashed in a car door. I too, had a bruised bone. Your PA isn't being nice, they really *do* hurt! So I hope you can have a great trip in spite of it all!

I am a 'clutch' according to my Gma.
I am still wearing some of the bruise from my last fall which was 5 weeks ago. The lump will take even longer to go away I fear.
I am sorry to hear you have your boo boo right as you are going to leave for your trip. I guess you are a 'clutch' like me.lol
