Our dates: August 27th through September 2nd.
(Will YOU be there at the same time? I already know some cool DIS people who will be! ;))

Alright, so we have 27 days left to go before our trip to DISNEY WORLD and I figured I’d start NOW on the trip report. That way, when we get back from vacation, I’ll have to finish it. Otherwise, I might just keep putting it off. Which wouldn’t be a good thing. Because well, I know that everyone is dying to read about our trip and all the fun things we did while we were down there! Okay maybe not, but I can dream can't I? :thumbsup2

So, here we go. The PRE-trip report. The exciting details of who is going, what we’ll be doing, where we’re staying, etc. Come on, get excited. You know you can’t wait to read all about it!

The WONDERFUL people going on this trip:

Lily - My little sister I had to wait 11 years to get! She's 7 years old, but we'll be celebrating her 8th birthday down at Disney which is a couple of days after we get back. This girl is CRAZY! She's nowhere near shy; okay maybe a tiny bit at first, but that passes within about 5 seconds after meeting her. She's a dancer and well, that's pretty much all she does. If you walk into her room, there she is dancing in front of the mirror. She also likes to look up everything about Disney. She pretty much knows what she's going to order at every restaurant we're eating at, what rides we should do and when, etc. She's definately MY sister. Ha.

John - One of my little brothers; 11 years old. Too smart for his own good. Seriously. At the age of 3, this kid was asking questions I couldn't answer. Neither could my parents. He's also probably one of the sweetest kids you'll ever meet. Well, MOST of the time! ;)

John & Lily.

Last but certainly not least, there's ME!
Lauren - 18 years old, but turning 19 shortly after our trip! (We have 6 people in our family, with 4 of us having September birthdays!) College student, studying to become a physical therapist. I'm probably the most excited about our upcoming trip. Is that bad? :teeth: Seriously though, I can't wait. :Pinkbounc

Okay, so I bet everyone is wondering where the parents are... or at least where someone else my age is. There isn't. This trip is just me, the little brother and the little sister. (Hence the title! :)) This is something I've really wanted to do for them for awhile now and finally have the chance to do it. I started saving up money and then booked the trip! :cool1: I asked my parents and our other brother, Mike (who's 15, almost 16) if they'd like to come along, but my Mom thought it'd be nice if it was just us. Mike didn't want to come. Disney World doesn't have his friends and girlfriend. Go figure.

Our last trip to Disney was back in January 2002. Yes, way too long ago. At least for me. We stayed at ASMovies and had a GREAT time. So, it was time to head on back. Plus, I think Disney World missed us too much for us to stay away any longer.

Choosing where we were staying on this trip was up to Lily. She'd get online with me and look at pictures of the different resorts. AND she'd get online by herself, too. So, she had a pretty good idea of what each resort looked like by the time I booked the trip. She knew deluxes were out of the question... because well, I'm a college student and I can't spend THAT much money just on the hotel. Know where she picked?

Yes, that's right. POP Century. She made it easy... she picked a value! Which works out perfectly for us. Personally, I love the value resorts. They're so much fun. All the oversize statues, the bright colors, everything. She picked POP because of this:

Along with all the other oversized statues. She said they were just "SO COOL!"

Okay, I think that's all for now.
Our list of ADR's, itineraries & all that good stuff is coming tomorrow. :)

Thats so cool that you're doing that for little bro and sis, they are gonna love you for it, and it will be so much fun enjoying it through their eyes. Will look out for more and thanks for sharing this with us,

You're just the coolest big sister EVER! ;) I'm excited for them and for you getting to go to Disney! Have a wonderful trip! I am looking forward to a trip report when you get back!

I am looking forward to your trip report and everything you did with the kiddos.....thanks for including us in your plans

Ok Lauren you are making the rest of us look bad. Yours is so good so far. I will start mine the day we leave. Awsome job keep up the good work.

You are a great big sis! I hope that you all have a great time.

I think Pop looks really neat too. Maybe if they get suites, I can go there some day.

Great start, Lauren! What a terrific big sis you are. Looking forward to all your updates! :sunny:

Oh My Gosh - You are the greatest big sis for doing this!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 You and your little sister will have it all under control - I can tell already! Will be anxiously awaiting the trip report :Pinkbounc

Let’s get this pre-trip report moving along again, shall we?

So, like I said earlier, our dates for this trip are August 27th – September 2nd. We’ll be staying at POP Century, thanks to Lily. :)

Now on to our ADR’s and action-packed itineraries! Ready? Of course you are!

Back in February when I really started planning this trip, I came across the DISboards and I seriously don’t know what I’d do if I hadn’t. I got hooked on trip reports, read reviews on restaurants, realized we need to add on the dining plan, etc. (& later this became FREE! Free Dining, what can be better?) I was obsessed. Then, I discovered TourGuideMike. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to subscribe or not, but I figured it was only $20 and I could get a refund if I wasn’t happy. Well, I’m glad I signed up. I know a lot of you don’t care for him and his advice, but to me it’s different then the DISboards. You know what I mean if you’ve subscribed.

By the time our 180-day mark came along, you bet I was ready to make some ADR’s! I couldn’t even tell you the restaurants I had reserved that day because well, they’ve changed about, oh, 700 times since then? Yeah, that sounds about right. So, I won’t bore with all the details of every change I made, I’ll just give yall the final list! (I’m 99.9% sure this is the way it’s staying! Hey, it’s a girl’s prerogative to change her mind! ;))

Actually, I’ll just go ahead and start the intineraries and include the ADR’s and times in those? Cool? Cool! :)

Sunday, August 27th.
We're flying out of BWI (Baltimore-Washington) on Southwest at 7:50am. I wanted the 6:50am flight, but I figured I'd be nice and wouldn't make the parents drive us TOO early to the airport! ;) But, even with the 7:50 flight, we'll be getting into Orlando at around 10:00am... still early enough! Hopefully we won't be having to wait too long for our ME bus once we check in downstairs.... oh, I really hope not! The worst thing is having to wait when you're SO excited to get somewhere! So, if all goes well, we should be arriving at POP around 11:30/Noon. If the room isn't ready yet, no problem... we'll just walk around the resort for a bit, maybe go swimming. But, we definately have to be in Downtown Disney for 3:00 because Miss Lily has an appointment at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at 3:30pm. :) I only booked her the coach package because when we paint her nails at home, she picks off the polish an hour later because she either is already sick of the color or wants to paint them herself... and there's no way I'm spending $175 just to add one of the dresses in. I know that my sister would never wear the dress again. Plus, she has at least 2 princess dresses at home. When we went in 2002, she just HAD to have the Tinkerbell costume, complete with shoes, everything. She wore it for about 2 hours. So, hair & makeup works just fine for us, thank you! :) After that, it's time to head to the Wilderness Lodge for our 5:10pm ADR at Whispering Canyon! I really hope we get a server who's into the job. Lily wants to keep asking for refills in hopes of getting one of those HUGE tubs of soda. (She saw it on a website.) Then, it's whatever the kids want to do. Or I should say whatever John wants to do. Especially if he has to sit through watching his sister get her hair done! ;)

Monday, August 28th.
This morning is MAGIC KINGDOM! My plan is to be at the gates NO LATER THAN 8:30am. Yes, we'll be getting to each park before opening everyday. Don't think we can do it? Just wait and see! ;) We'll hit up all the rides we can handle (and that's alot of rides folks!) and then do lunch at one of the counter services around 11:30 or so. Or whenever the kids start saying they're hungry. We might do a few more rides... but, then it's definately time to head back to POP for some swimming and a nap. John & Lily say they don't need naps now, but they'll be taking some. I know it! :) After everyone is re-energized, we'll be heading to Epcot for the evening. Lily picked our dinner ressies for tonight... 5:45pm at San Angel Inn. I feel like I should mention here that we're half Spanish (Yep, Dad is a Tex-Mex! But everyone thinks he looks Italian) and Lily & I eat lunch at a little cheap Mexican restaurant around here about twice a week. It's her favorite food in the WHOLE wide world, so Disney World Mexican food? Come on, it's GOTTTTA be good! :) Plus, the inside of the restaurant and Mexican pavilion is just so cool. Our family loved it last time we went to Disney... and YES, we loved El Rio de Tiempo. We went on that over and over. We probably rode it more then your family has ridden Splash Mountain... or the monorail. We'll probably walk around World Showcase after dinner and hang out until Illuminations. Then, it's back to the hotel to PARTY!! Just kidding. I bet you $100 we'll go swimming. :)

More on the action-packed intineraries coming up!

Lauren, you Rock!!!! You have got to be the coolest big sister ever! Lily & John are soooo lucky to have you! I'm so glad you're going to WCC, you will all love it! Can't wait to hear more! :)

Your sis is going to have so much fun at BBB! And your brother will love WCC!

I know what you mean about changing ADRs. There are just so many good places to eat! This board certainly helped me with my planning, too.

Good job Lauren can I pass along my plans so you can make them as good as yours. You are so excited now i can't wait till you actually go and then meet us. Great job.

Let's keep it moving on to Tuesday! :)

Tuesday, August 29th.
Today is going to be a really fun day! Why? You'll see! :thumbsup2
We'll be up early again... and back at the gates of MAGIC KINGDOM no later than 8:30am. Yes, I know we were just here yesterday morning, but come on, isn't Magic Kingdom the whole reason you come to Disney World? Well, to Lily & I it is. It's our FAVORITE park, hands down. We'll hit rides the kids want to do again and probably some we didn't get to yesterday. Lunch will either be at the hotel or at a counter-service in MK. If the kids are absolutely, positively starvinggggg as they like to say, we'll eat there. If not, we'll head on back to POP, grab a bite to eat at the food court and then hang around at the pool and take our daily naps! :) Then, it's off to MGM for a FUN evening! We have dinner reservations for 5:40pm at 50's Prime Time... and we'll be seeing Crossfamily, PoohGal05 and Katlas&kids there! How cool is it that we all happened to have ADR's at 50's on the same night? I think it's pretty cool myself! ;) After dinner, we're all going to FANTASMIC together. I've never seen this show and am really excited. I really think John & Lily are going to love it too! By the end of the show, I know the kids will be tired, so it's back to the hotel we go to reat up for another DISNEY day! :thumbsup2

Wednesday, August 30th.
Today is an EPCOT day! Although, we WILL be taking our mid-day break. We have to. Otherwise, I just don't know. :) We'll be arriving early as usual, to beat the crowds so we can be some of the first people on Soarin'! (Don't worry, we'll get our fastpasses BEFORE we ride. Because yes, I know we'll want to do this one over again!) After that? More rides! Lily wants to do Mission Space really badly. Why? Because she's heard the stories of people coming off the ride and getting sick or hurt and her best friend went on it over Spring Break and said, "YOU HAVE TO GO ON IT!" If the best friend says she has to go on it, then OH MY GOSH! WE HAVE TO GO! :) I'm also going to make sure we send home the interactive postcards! So yeah, mid-day break is approaching by this time I'm sure... back to POP we go! NAP TIME! :woohoo: This evening, we're heading back to EPCOT for our 5:40pm ADR at Coral Reef. We're all really looking forward to this restaurant and I'm definately going to see if they can sit us as close to the aquarium as possible!

Sorry if this update was short. More to come tomorrow!

Yeah I was mentioned in a TR. She's all nice now wait till she meets all of us crazy people. Good Job Lauren keep it up.
