I make these once a month for a Sunday breakfast along with a vanilla dipping sauce, numers.

They were delicious!! I realized I cannot view the picture :confused3... maybe a disboard expert can help us in posting pictures on the DIS. Any help is much appreciated!! I see the icon to click to insert an image but it asks for the image URL??

First you need to put the picture on the internet so it will have a URL address. Something like photobucket will work for that. Then you use the insert icon here and put in the address of the photo.

Not trying to thread jack, but because of this post, I was able to figure out how to post my pics on here! I just pulled them from my Disneyland Pinterst board! Thanks!

Also OP, did you have a recipe you would like to share? Or maybe Jack? Thanks!

This is the recipe I got from the CO.

Makes 10 large Mickey Mouse-shaped fritters or 2 dozen small fritters
1/2 teaspoon dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water (105º)
1/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons vegetable shortening
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 egg
4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup boiling water
Vegetable oil for frying
Powdered sugar

1. Sprinkle yeast over warm water in a small bowl, stirring to dissolve. Let stand for 5 minutes.
2. Combine sugar, shortening, salt, heavy cream, egg, flour and boiling water in a large bowl; stir in yeast mixture. With the dough hook attachment of an electric mixer on medium speed, mix the dough just until combined and smooth. Let dough rest for 30 minutes.
3. Roll to 1/4-inch thickness and cut individual beignets with a Mickey Mouse-shaped cutter or cut into 2 1/2 to 3-inch squares. Cover with a towel and let dough rise until doubled in size in a warm, draft-free area, about 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
4. Heat 3 inches of vegetable oil to 350°F in a deep, heavy pot over medium-high heat. Fry beignets until golden brown, about 2 to 3 minutes, turning as soon as they brown on one side. Remove with tongs and place on paper towels to drain. 5. Dust (or smother) warm beignets with powdered sugar and serve immediately.

Thanks Jack! I'll be picking up the ingredients for these tomorrow. YUMMY!

Thank you Jack...so what is the vanilla dipping sauce like, share please :thumbsup2

A vanilla pudding mix + 1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract, mix with water or milk to the consistancy you like..I like to add a bit of vanilla bean also. Mix to taste. I do not use the whole pkg, I just mix to taste.

That sounds way easier than what I was going to make for a dipping sauce. I think I'll steal this recipe too!! THX!

Again, thank you Jack ...this will be a great way to start off our Sunday.
