Just jumped over from the Disneyworld forum….Looking at Disneyland now

This board has been great and i had been looking at going to UO and Disney-world for 10 days with my employees and there family and my family and grandkids. AFTER looking into it for the last week we have all decided to look at going to Disneyland instead. We all see more value in Orlando but its the travel time with young kids that we worry about.

Did you know that Disneyland and California Adventure actually have 91 rides and attractions combined, and all of Disneyworld's attractions/ rides combined equals 120… so only a difference of 29

Which makes Disneyland a pretty good value, actually.

Welcome to the Disneyland side! My husband and I used to visit WDW frequently when we lived in Florida, but always preferred Disneyland/California Adventure for how much magic there is here. We fly in from Ohio and this year marks the 10th anniversary of our annual pilgrimage to DLR. I'm sure you'll have an excellent time, as well!

You guys are all so DISNEY NICE….Coming from Oregon. Thinking Nov 30 to Dec 4 ? We went two years ago with our then 8 year old grandson, was a funny trip. I had been going to Mexico that last year getting lots of dental work done and this was my last trip, so we where going to take my grandson to Mexico and San Diego. We got a really cheap hotel just off the border in Chila Vista BEST WESTERN SOUTH BAY. And where going to get my dental work done and move on to San Diego, but the hotel was a rip off place that tried to charge me $1000 for smoking in our room…I DONT SMOKE…LOL..He charged it on my card and kicked us out of the hotel, i called the police and had him arrested. They told me its not the first time they heard about this guy and that hotel. So we just skipped San Diego and went to DISNEYLAND….My poor grandson was so wore out with those border crossing and the jerk border agents that he was just about ready to go home. But we got to our hotel at Disneyland and he rested for a day and good to go. We where calling his Mom every day and the other grandson (7) learned we went to Disneyland and???? Well you can guess what happen….lol..so i told him we will go soon again and take all you guys. I went for the 50 celebration because i was 50 at the time, now I'm 60. And its the 60 celebration now. We really wanted to go to Harry Potter UO but it takes a long 12 hour day of travel from Oregon and we have vey young ones with us and unless you stayed on site its hard to get back to the hotel to rest threw out the day and at Disneyland its easy to do. Plus it would have been a 10 day trip at DWO and 5 at Disneyland. And only a 2 hour flight….We have a large group because we are taking employees and family and us. We always have stayed at the Ramada main gate but thinking some place like the water park hotel, but now i see Elnino is coming in Oct so swimming may not be that important? I hope it rains for the park, we love rain. But peeps in Calif don't go outside when it rains so the park should be slow? I just spent the last week trying to plan for WDW & UO and that in its self was more stress then i wanted.

Hello and welcome!

We've been in the rain and the parks were fun. As long as you are prepared for the rain and I see you're from Oregon so I'm sure you are you should do just fine. I question the El Nino but, I can only hope! We really need the rain! I saw recently that Harry Potter will be opening California Universal in spring 2016.
