I haven't been paying much attention to alot of the park details recently since I didn't think we would be going back until May 2017 but I got a good deal so no looks like we're going in a couple months.

Two adults, one child (6), Pop Century, three nights, two day park hoppers and quick service dining for $1500. It's kind of hard for us to even go to the beach that cheap.

In any event, looking forward to Launch Bay and Rivers of Light but I was wondering if there was anything "under the radar" that might be enjoyable for a 6 year old girl? Our last trip was November of 2014 and we went three times that year so we've had the full A&E experience and done Mine Train.

Thanks for any input.

I am looking for another short trip this year for all the new stuff they added since I went in just in August - Launch Bay, Frozen, Soaring, Rivers of Light. i went on a short (2 park day) trip in August and another in 2014. They are quick .. but affordable AND fun.

I personally wouldn't go for hoppers (that is a huge cost $160+) for just two days or do the quick service dining plan ($300+) .. to me just save the money and buy your food as you go. I bet you'll probably spend less than $300 in those three days and have money left over for breakfast! Even at Disney prices, I just can't imagine having my family of 3 spending over $100/day at TWO quick service meals a day. Table Service? Sure .. but QS? not even close.

Disney IS affordable though! Enjoy a short trip. They are fun!

What's new with "Frozen" and what did they do with Soarin, just add another screen to increase capacity correct or is that finished yet?
They replaced Maelstrom at Epcot with a Frozen-themed ride and a new M&G there (not open yet)

Soaring - added a new theatre and maybe changed the movie? Not sure on the movie change.

We considered not hopping and adding a third day, but hopping would allow us to hit all four parks, see Illumintions, Rivers of Light and Wishes all on the same trip over two days, something we can't do without the hoppers so we went for it.

And I agree about the quick service not being a good value, especially since we have a car and ability to eat off grounds. On our last half dozen trips or so I don't think we've gotten the dining plan, but this is our first trip without a stroller. This trip, we're trying to keep it simple even if not the best value.

We finally rode the train at AK and spent time at Conservation station and I was surprised at how much there was for kids. A 6 year old would love it but I would plan on at least an hour. I wish we had done it sooner.

I still say don't bother with the dining plan. If convenience is your main goal, simply just charge all your meals to your Magic Band and pay for you meals when you check out. That is a lot simpler than trying to keep track of how many meal and snack credits you have left and worrying about wasting one if one of your party members is not hungry.

I don't mind paying extra for convenience but I have never understood how the Dining Plan is more convenient than just whipping out the old credit card (or using your Magic Band) .. you have to keep track of all your credits, figuring out which restaurants you can and cannot eat at .. etc. etc. I used it once and it just felt like a hassle.

I bet you could "splurge" and eat at Table Service restaurant or two and still save money compared to what the QS dining plan costs. (just depends how big of eaters you are).
