Just purchased at SSR and looking for a nice way to tell the kids for x-mas...only regret is that I did not join earlier. Any suggestions for x-mas would be great.

Congratulations and Welcome Home!

Take them "home" for the holidays :)

You can always put the DVC Member Guide book under the tree or in there x-mas stocking.

I don't know how old your children are, so it's hard to suggest an appropriate way to surprise them.

Why don't you just tell them that you're going to WDW next year, and then surprise them when they get there?

However you do it, they're gonna' love it!:)

I agree, they may or may not understand the DVC thing...

Why not put Mickey under the tree with hopper passes in his lap? Or mock up some plane tickets, if theyd recognize them.

If they would get it, then put Mickey under the tree with a sign that says, "welcome home."

We didn't wait until x-mas, but I showed pictures of the pool and slide area of SSR to my boys ( they are 5). They now tell everyone about the slide that goes through the rocks, and all about WDW to anyone that will listen.:D

I am taking my nieces with my to Disney in Feb. and making it part of their Christmas gift (not the same but close enough for concept) I just found pictures of the Christmas trees on wdwig.com and am going to make a collage of the holiday decorations.

You might be able to do something similiar with a "this is what we'll be enjoying for years to come" type thing.

good luck

Make a Disney present for them. Put in a box anything Disney that you think they may like along with a picture of your new "home"...............Park Hoppers are always great!!

Request the DVC video and wrap that up, that really says it all. How old are your kids? Do they know and understand what DVC is? Have you stayed at a DVC resort or visited so they will know what it is? Congrats and WELCOME HOME!!!!

I cut Disney Store catalog pages into strips and make them into a paper chain. 1 strip = 1 day until we go to Disney. Makes counting down a fun daily ritual!

My kids are 16, 11 and 7. We are glad we will be coming to Disney more than ever now.

We surprised DD with a trip a couple of years ago, leaving Dec. 29. On Christmas morning, we made sure the televised parade was on TV. Her last present was a box with a "Certificate" for a trip to Disney, leaving in four days . It also contained Disney dollars. It was great, because as she watched the parade, she kept saying, "I wish we could see that!" It would help if you actually have a trip booked, so you can tell them when they are going. I don't think kids would be terribly impressed with where they will be staying, except for the pool, but a visual of what they will get to see would be great. Diana

Buy some DVC shirts for them.
