Just how many 15 passenger vans can we fill with Disers anyways?

It's not easy keeping up here and everywhere else... LOL

So, I've gone through the posts for the last few days... I've added all of your introduction info into the first and second posts of this thread... Great idea all! I did have to take out all of your smilies and emoticons though - sorry about that.

If you all want to continue your introductions... I will add them as I can to the the first and second posts. :)

If I missed anyone - please let me know... I only went back to page 6.

Very excited about all of the ideas we are coming up with - this is sure to be the most epic of EPIC trips ever. ::yes::

D~

Seriously Michelle.....we have to meet. We are like 15 mins from each other! Do you know any other DISers in ME? I know of Ann-Marie up near Augusta, but that's it. We should get together. At the very least....we'll have to meet when we have our annual DISmeet this Spring.

And yes...we can absolutely fly together! But I fly out of Manchester....Portland just has nothing convenient for flights, but at least we can carpool to MHT :)

Suzi that works for me! I have flow out of MHT several times because they have direct flights in the early AM! However I do really love just coming to PWM as I can park at work for free and take a 5 min taxi ride to/from the airport.. but really I dont' care long as I get there!! haaaaa..
Yes we def have to meet.. I am friends on facebook with a few other Dis'er from Maine (Bangor area) and friends with a Disney nut who actually lives in my mobile home park and I know her 3 younger sisters - small world!

Intro - my name is Michelle (Hubs calls me Honey and my family calls me Sis) I work in a big insurance company however my job is just mostly paper work - nothing fancy but pays the bills and allows me to save for vacations.. I have 2 kiddos. DD is turning 21 in 4 SHORT weeks and is in her 3 yr of college and my DS just turned 18 4 SHORT weeks ago and is a HS senior.. :scared1: as my Hubs pointed out I now have no kids just grown ups.. I have been married to my Hubs for almost 6 yrs (11/30) and he is the BEST.. We just got back from his second trip to Disney and he loves it (maybe not as much as me but it's ok) We have one kitty name Hunny (like Pooh's Hunny Pot) and she is a love bug..

Rides - well I get motion sick so things like Star Wars, Tea Cups and Mission Space are out but I got on most everything else.. ToT and Everest well maybe just once a trip.. Haaa my fave rides are BTMR, COP, Safari, TSM, RnR, Soarin and Test Track..

I am not too picky of an eater - so the food and wine was fun, I tried some things that I could now order out since I know what they taste like now.. I don't drink very much NOT beer ever EEEW.. mixed fruity slushy drinks are more my speed..

here is a pic of me and hubs from our trip we just took..

It's great meeting you Michelle!!! I love your shirt - btw. :thumbsup2

OK - I want to make sure I add your info in the right spot... Are you thinking that you are flying into Orlando with Suzi?

D~

OR depending on where in Florida we move, you can all drive and we can have a big pajama party at my place BEFORE we drive the last leg to Disney. ;)

Kathy, if there's any chance you'll be in Jacksonville we can carpool :thumbsup2

Two years is too far away!

This is kind of a hard PTR to keep up with but I am trying my best! This really does sound like an EPIC trip!

Not the greatest pic, hopefully after my next trip I will have a better one. Speaking of my next trip, here is a completely shameless plug for my March 2015 PTR.

Name: Casey. I am 26 and live south of Boston. I just bought a house this year with my BF of 13 years and we are hoping to get married in the next few years. We have a trip booked for March 2015. He isn't the biggest fan. and said that he will come for our 10 day trip and then isn't going back until we have kids so this will be my way to get back! :rotfl:

Favorite Park: Magic Kingdom all the way!! It doesn't feel like Disney until you walk down Main Street.

Favorite Character: Tigger and Buzz Lightyear.

Touring plan: Easy going. I like to not have a plan and just go with the flow.

I'm not really sure what else to write here... But I am a fun gal and I am so looking forward to this trip! :cool1:

This PTR trip is moving fast. Hope the next two years go as fast to get here so you can go. It will be an epic trip. I am so off the trip path for a dis meet. Some day.

Okay, so since I have been put in charge of the food stops, I have been a busy little beaver. I had suggested to D~ that it would be fun to do Food Network restaurants to add some MORE fun to the trip..and BAM, I am put in charge. :lmao: I studied the map D~ posted on the first page to map out our stops. I tried to coordinate everything using distances on mapquest, then using the restaurant locator on the Food Network web site. It was fun. Not sure if we will actually use the plan, but it was fun to make. :goodvibes I am including links to restaurant web sites, so that you all can see what they have to offer.

So, it starts from Chicago. I did not choose a place in Chicago, since there are plenty of "Chicago-ans" who can choose local favorites. I am assuming the group will leave Chicago in the morning hours, so the first stop is a snack stop. I figure that even those who do not want a morning snack, they can purchase something for snacking later. :thumbsup2

Chicago to Indianapolis: approximately 3 hours
Cupcakes at Bake My Day Bakery https://www.facebook.com/bmdbakery

Indianapolis to Louisville: approximately 2 hours
Soups, Salads and Sandwiches for lunch at The Cheddar Box http://thecheddarbox.com/

Louisville to Nashville: approximately 2.5 hours
Movie Night Fun and Camping at my house!!! :cool1:

*I can help arrange a local hotel for any who do not wish to camp or sleep on sleeping bags or air mattresses in my living room. :thumbsup2

Have a LIGHT breakfast at my house before leaving in the morning hours. Chattanooga will be the snack stop for the day.

Nashville to Chattanooga: approximately 2 hours (lose an hour, from CST to EST)
Coffee, Breads, and Pastries at Rembrandt's Coffee House http://bluffviewartdistrict.com/subpage.php?pageId=140

Chattanooga to Atlanta: approximately 2 hours
Lunch at Daddy Dz BBQ Joynt, gotta have some good ole' southern BBQ! http://daddydz.com/

Here is where it gets tricky. There were no other Food Network restaurants along I-75 between Atlanta and Orlando. So, after Atlanta we will just fly by the seat of our pants. :rotfl2:

Hi Everybody! I'm Cindy and I will be bring up the tail end of the road trip with the welcome wagon to Orlando. Anyone else that lives in the area and wants to join in down here just holler!

Me: Cindy 40 married to Gerald and we live in Orlando. I do transcription for a cardiologists in downtown. Married 9 years. No kids but we have 3 cats: Marvin (8) Betty (5) and Stubby (3). Born and raised Southern Indiana but do not care for basketball, car racing or cow tipping. Moved to New Orleans in 2003 and found a love for Saints football, Bourbon Street and Beingnets. Oh and Gerald, he was a bartender then when we met (might have been helped along by some adult beverages).

Favorite park: Magic Kingdom, fair warning I cry during fireworks.

Favorite character: Goofy, see the pic below he is now 38 years old! Favorite Princess is Merida she just cracks me up.

Favorite Ride: Haunted mansion followed closely by Tomorrowland Transit Authority (exciting huh!) and Expedition Everest. (may the Maelstrom rest in peace).

Least favorite park: If I had to skip one it probably would be Animal Kingdom, even though it holds one of my favorite rides its still not my favorite park.

Least favorite ride: Mission space, closed in small place nope, nope nope.

Touring style: Used to be commando when we came for vacation but I have gotten better about slowing down, really I have. Love rope drop!

Favorite Disney food: Snack: Popcorn and Mickey Bars. Restaurant: 50's Prime Time. Adult libations: Tambu Lounge for a Lapu Lapu but I've never been known to turn down any kind of drink.

We actually don't spend near as much time in the parks as you would expect, unfortunately they want me to actually come to work to get paid. But it is nice to have the option to go and just hang out.

What you didn't need to know that much about me?

Oh and lifelong Disney fanatic!

I am not the least bit surprised that there are no Food Network recommended restaurants on I-75 between Atlanta and Orlando :rotfl:

You will surely see plenty of Chick Fil As and Waffle Houses along the way. :moped:

That is one AWESOME list Oopsi!!!! Mmmm... Even though I am currently eating lunch - that list is making my hungry. ::yes::

Thank you so much for putting it together for us! Super excited.

We can just starve the last leg of the journey... After all, there will be Disney food in our future... Yum!

D~ <--- Just in case it's not seen on the post on the first page... I call a blow up bed at Oopsi's house. ::yes::

This trip sound absolutely AMAZING!!! I wish I could jump in and join y'all but my students just couldn't make it without me :confused3

I'll be following along and would love a Dismeet, depending on when you hit Atlanta :thumbsup2

I've only had one (two??) Dismeets and would love to have another!!! :cool1:

Y'all are going to have a blast!!

~Jennifer

Ooooooooooooh, so, I think mom and i should fly into Nashville and join in with the van from there!!!! I CAN NOT miss the movie night/sleepover at Connie's!!!!!!!!!! Can someone pick us up from the airport????????:rolleyes1 :cool1:

Favorite park: MK. It was AMAZING and definitely nostalgic for DL which is where I grew up!!!!! Favorite ride: Splash Mountain (although I am very bummed that there is no Mr. Toad's Wild Ride as that is my FAVE!!!!!!! but anywho....) I did not get to spend enough time in Epcot though and I feel like that will probably be my favorite on this trip!

I am a computer dummy and I am taking entirely too long to start my trip report! Also, since my work schedule changes with patient load sometimes I keep up here.......and sometimes I don't! But I do try!!!!! Whew.......

Well, I get to be the party pooper and let y'all know that I won't be joining in this Epic Trip after all :sad1: Looks like my family is heading back in November 2016 :santa: And, honestly, I just don't think I am ready for a trip to the World without my kiddos. I hope you guys are cool with me sticking around and joining in the planning fun! I love reading all your ideas and hearing about your adventures!

sweetpeaandevie~ I could probably pick you and your mom up at the airport. Would love for you to join the movie night, the more the merrier! :thumbsup2

I suppose I need to formally introduce myself...

I am Connie, a fourtysomething year old. We live on a five acre piece of heaven just east of Nashville, TN. I work as an administrative assistant to the dean of the School of Business at a local university.

I have been married to my Disney loving DH for 18 years. We have three children, a 15 year old DD, a 12 year old DD, and a very rambunctious 8 year old DS.

For fun as a family, we enjoy going to the Nashville Zoo, having Disney themed movie nights with friends, backyard bonfires, spending time at the in-law's condo in Gulf Shores, AL, and we are very involved in our church. We really just make our own fun with just about everything we do. :goodvibes

Up until last month we were BIG Disney World fans, nothing could be better...UNTIL....

we took a Disney cruise last month (Oct. 2014). We all agree that it was, by far, the BEST VACATION EVER. It was seven days of :cloud9:. No other way to describe it. We still love WDW, but DCL has our hearts now, for sure.

Guess that sums it all up for me and mine.

MMMMmmmMMMmmMMMmmMMMmmMMMmmMMMmmMMMmmmm....

Well, I get to be the party pooper and let y'all know that I won't be joining in this Epic Trip after all

Yay! This means we can have as many Mickey Waffles as we want!! :cool1:
No seriously....I wish you were coming....another one I actually know, and like alot!! We'll miss you!

1. Who Am I? - So, I'm Suzi. I live in Southwestern Maine, born and raised. I work part time (8-2 M-F) for a local insurance agency, and to be honest....I hate it. I sell Avon and Thirty-One to hopefully be able to quit the insurance job in a few years. I have been married to my husband, Bill for just over 12 years. We have a soon-to-be 8 year old boy, Bradey who is the love of my life.

2. Touring Style - I am a planner. I like to be at the park a little before rope drop and hit the ground running. I usually take a break midday, then hop to another park that evening. I always plan my mornings out, but leave the evenings open to do whatever we feel like. We have always and probably will always get park hoppers because it just makes the planning so much easier.

3. Favorite Park/Least Favorite Park - Magic Kingdom & Epcot are my favorites, and Hollywood Studios is my least fav. AK is a 1/2 day park for me too, but I do enjoy it.

4. Favorite Character - Not sure I can answer this. I love them all! I am a traditional with my love for the Fab 5, but also love some newer characters like Pascal and Sven too.

5. Rides - Again, can't really answer a favorite here. I love all the rides. The only one I don't really enjoy is Kali, just because I hate to walk around totally soaked. But I will ride everything!

6. Food/Restaurants - Yes. I love them all.....I like to plan a couple sit down breakfasts, but for the most part, I grab something at the food court then hit the parks and plan my big meal for either an early dinner or late lunch. Some favorites are Boma, Via Napoli, Kona and believe it or not...the QS Captain Cooks at the Poly.

Very much looking forward to this trip! The ride down sounds like so much fun.....we'll see. I might fly into TN too.....maybe.

OK D~ I just reviewed the Dis-meet stops and would like to chime in for Chattanooga at the coffee shop. My well thought out and intellectual reasons below:
1 - I hate ATL (No offense to anyone living there, but your traffic is problematic)
2 - I LOVE coffee - seriously. the one vice I cannot, will not, you can pry it from my cold dead fingers, live without.
3 - I like Chattanooga a lot. We will probably start running up there at least twice a year. Dragging friends and family along.
4 - Did I mention that I hate Atlanta traffic. And driving I20 to ATL. (On this side of the state line - see, nothing personal ATL people. There's just something about those particular sets of roads that bring out the not-nice in people)
5 - It's about the same drive for me, so ... just saying.

There is No way i am going to catch up on everything here... This is D~ report... ;)

So HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Also want to note Nicole had to put her beloved puppy (12 years old) down yesterday. Very sad.

AS for this nonsense above. I think you need to look at cruises in 2016...

I go to WDW on Oct 22nd only to come back to find you have planned this EPIC DISMEET! Wow, that will be a lot of fun. :cool1: I would definitely like to be added to any Chicago Dismeet you might have. :thumbsup2

We just got back from WDW. We were there from Oct 22nd to 27th and we had the most fantastic weather imaginable. It was perfect - mostly low to mid 80's. We went to the MNSSHP on Friday, which was a sold out party and pretty crowded. But the parties earlier in the week were not sold out and were less crowded. If you want to plan a date to go the MNSSHP then I would suggest a Tuesday night for the lowest crowds. :thumbsup2

There was a black out period for free dining during most of Oct, 2014. Here are the 2014 free dining dates:

The dates included are:
August 31 - October 3
October 26 - November 1
November 9 - November 20
December 12 - December 23

There was a room discount, too. I'll see if I can find the information. :)

We were in WDW in Sept, too, from Sept 24th to 28th and it was ungodly hot and humid and rainy. :faint: October was much better. :thumbsup2

Hi Suzi! We haven't really been "speaking" together, but I still feel I know you from Mo and D~ and your crazy adventures. I like all the rides too. I know what you mean about Kali. In September, it's kinda nice to get wet, but I hate my feet to be wet. It would be great if you flew into TN!!

I was going to give a little into of myself, but I have to leave RIGHT NOW for somewhere, so I'll come back another day. It's so nice to "meet" everyone!
