Just how bad are crowds on New Years Eve and New Years Day

We were there Jan 2-7 and the crowds were in good force. We purposely waited until after New Years. Now I am wondering if we did this next year, should we just include New Years too? Really, how bad was it compared to Jan 2 or after? Thanks.

We arrived 12/29 and departed 1/5/06 - we really didn't notice a huge decrease at all just a slight decrease on the the 3rd & 4th, I think it was because of the long weekend, then as we were leaving at 1 pm ish on the 5th we noticed lots of folks checking in for the marathon and there were huge line at the airport for the ME to the resorts.

I didn't find New Years Day to be too crowded. Maybe it's just me though.
