Just Hold On, We're Going Home...All 11 of Us Are Going to Mickeystoontown's Home! Update 10/27

Woah! You are cranking on the updates!!!

First, so sorry to hear about the roadblock for Lacey and Jesse's house. Hopefully all will work out. Seriously, the sale/purchase of a house cycle can be a delicate chain of events where one house has to close before the purchase of the next, and so on. The absence of this loan officer could potentially muck-up a bunch of lives!

Sending positive thoughts to all.

She has thrown a huge monkey wrench in the plans. They had already given their notice of moving out of the rental property and were going to use that rent money to turn on utilities. Now, they have to ask to stay there longer (they rent from a former youth volunteer at church and they don't start using the home until late Spring/early Summer so they are probably good on that front. They just hope that the seller will agree to the extension. I can't believe this lady let this happen.

***************************************************************

I love Universe of Energy. Heck, I loved it even when the preshow and post-ride were boring. Did you ride it before they added Ellen, Bill Nye, Stupid Judy and Jeopardy? Definitely a welcome improvement. But I totally agree with you- the Ellen animatronic while you are in with the dinos is pretty bad.

We don't see it every trip, because it really is a big time commitment, I did see it in June on the class trip. Some students (and chaperones) did nap during the ride, but the rest of us enjoyed it.

Off to read your next chapter...

:goodives

No we didn't see it before the addition of Ellen. Was it boring?

I love the Marketplace in Mexico- so many interesting things and pretty colors- but I have never noticed candy before! Where???

Silly me- I have also never eaten at Via Napoli before although almost every review I have read has been raves. All of your food certainly looked incredible!

::yes::

There is a nice selection of candies in Mexico. Usually they are in baskets on the San Angel restaurant side of the plaza. We bought some goats milk candy that was similar to pralines. Sooooo good! They had coconut candies, nut rolls and some other items. Our friends loved all of them becaue it reminded them of home.

You hit the nail right on the head about no sweet tea. I'm from Alabama and unsweetened tea with "sweetener" is not even the same! I"ll have to remember the unsweetened tea with the lemonade for Via Napoli. I want to eat there next time we go.

And I was very impressed with your Italian. I had no idea that Rodeo was the same in either language lol. So you did teach us something and I was very impressed lol.

You already know that's the truth about sweet tea. Ugh. I'm from Kentucky, and you can't find sweet tea in WDW that actually tastes like sweet tea, so thanks for the tip about the Arnold Palmer. :) Sending positive vibes for Lacey and Jesse about their house issues.

Great Updates!

I love Living with the Land, although I miss the cute little song they used to play back when it was called "Listen to the land" (Back when it was sponsored by Kraft I think it was).

I am a fan of the Universe of Energy too, I love Ellen, she was a great addition to it. But like with LWTL, I miss the music they played during the pre-show and the Finale for that ride. The preshow was neat, too, I guess you've never seen it if you never saw it before Ellen. There were square screens that used to rotate (unless they are still there, but I don't remember seeing them recently) and the pictures they had on there were really neat, time lapse videos of flowers growing, etc. I wish they still made use of that technology.

Love your dinner at Via Napoli. I liked it there but when we were there on our last trip we had REALLY slow service (at least for my Dad's entree, for some reason it took forever for them to bring it)

Everything looks delicious!! I'll definitely have to keep those ricotta cheese fritters in mind when we visit there in the fall!!

All throughout the meal, our waiter was attentive, checking to see if we needed anything and refilling our glasses.
But was he as good as your waiter last trip? i just giggled thinking about John trying not to make eye contact with him every time he walked by! :rotfl2:

Ugh! I hope everything goes well for Jesse and Lacy. We just finished a refinance on our home and I know how much of a pain in the butt that is!

Mmmmmm Via Napoli! I've only eaten there once but I really want to go back again. I've actually had it booked a time or two but plans changed. I could use a piece of that cheese pizza right now.

I've never eaten at Via Napoli, but it looks sooooooo yummy! I am definitely going to have to try to get an ADR there for my upcoming visit in June! Italian food is my fave!!!

No sweetener or even sugar spooned into unsweet tea just isn't the same as "real" sweet tea.

Yay! My Itialian lesson paid off.

We've never had a server that didn't know what an Arnold Palmer was so you can try it at just about any table service restaurant.

Thanks for those positive vibes! They are very much needed right now.

I remember that song! I had forgotten about it. Now I want to find it on YouTube because we know that it is there somewhere.

I am sad that I didn't see the Universe of Energy version that you are talking about. Sounds really cool.

Your pizza looked soooo yummy...and so did that "ugly but good" dessert...I didn't think it was ugly at all lol...looked delish!

Wow, you have been busy these last few days! I do hope things worked out for Jessie and Lacey to get their house!!!!

YOu know, I have not been on Energy since Ellen was added. I just never liked it as a kid, so I have never done it with my kids. Maybe we need to keep it in mind for a good napping spot, LOL! Although, I think the seats at American Adventure are more comfy for that. HAHAHA!

We have never eaten at the Mexico or Italy or China restaurants, because Brian and the kids always want to try cuisine that is not readily available around here. I have heard so many times how good Via Napoli is, though. I have not heard one bad review of that place.

I was searching for something to take back to my Mama but we ended up buying quite a few candies for our friends from Guatemala instead.

You didn't want to bring her a skull? :rotfl2:

Our name was called about ten minutes later and the hostess led us to a table in what I would describe as a sunroom on the side of the restaurant. One entire side of the seating area was glassed in and we were able to see out into a portion of the Italy pavilion.

Hmm...I don't think I even noticed that there was a separate seating area before.

Many years ago, a waitress in one of the restaurants suggested that we try an Arnold Palmer which is half lemonade and half unsweetened tea and it’s a great substitute.

Interesting. I'll have to try and remember that.

This wasn't our first rodeo or as they say in Italian.............rodeo.

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

The pizzas at Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria are out of this world delicious!

Agreed! Love that place.

I have an ADR for our next trip to Via Napoli. We've never eaten there, but you have convinced me I made a good choice.

I dont' get why they call it the ugly dessert either because it looks fantastically beautiful to me!

Wow, you have been busy these last few days! I do hope things worked out for Jessie and Lacey to get their house!!!!

The whole bank/loan officer thing has us all upset. If she had just turned it over to another loan officer, they may not have had such a delay or the possibility of the sellers not agreeing to an extension.

Do you like Ellen at all? If so, I think that it would be worth a trip over to Universe of Energy.

We are not adventurous eaters at all. Well, at some times we are but it's pretty rare. The pizza at Via Napoli is soooooooo good!

You didn't want to bring her a skull? :rotfl2:

I couldn't decide if I wanted the pink one with the flowers or the bright green one with the scary face so I left them both.

Hmm...I don't think I even noticed that there was a separate seating area before.

I hadn't either until they seated us there.

Interesting. I'll have to try and remember that.

Girl, I'm so behind.

Yeah, he totally went outside of his comfort zone didn't he. LOL

Well, I was on a writing roll and then it came to a halt. Why? Let's see if I can remember them all. First off, Lacey & Jesse were on pins and needles waiting to see if the sellers would agree to the extension. They did...finally, two days after the contract had expired. They have moved back in with us since their rental was up. Hopefully, they will close somewhere between the 19th and the 22nd. Second, remember the hail storm that blew through our area? We had an adjuster come out last Saturday and she says that we have no damage at all. We don't know how in the world she came up with that since our roof is beat to hail and back. (see what I did there?) We, literally, had a foot and a half of hail piled up from the valley in our roof and it stayed there until four days later. So, we are requesting another adjuster but haven't heard anything. Third, Mama has to have a new roof. Imagine that? Lives right next door and she has to have a roof but we don't? Crazy isn't it? She's gotten so flustered over the whole ordeal (long long story about a two bit con artist) and I'm having to talk to agents, adjusters, etc. On top of all of that, we are in the middle of refinancing a note and because of new government regulations, it is going to take forever and we don't have forever since the note matures on the 27th. Needless to say, all of this has caused a heckofa lot of stress around our household. I'm hoping to get an update posted today so hold tight please, I'm trying.
