Just had Afternoon Tea at the Grand Floridian - LONG

I don't see why men would have any problem with this. I seldom drink tea (except when ill) but the food sounds so good I would gladly make an exception. Being a big Star Trek fan, I might go with "Tea, Earl Grey, hot".

The "Devonshire Cream" is actually called "clotted cream" in Devonshire itself. Perhaps that's a little too descriptive of what it does to your arteries, but it is heavenly. And "scones" are properly pronounced with a short "o", not a long one.

Thanks again for all the info. Can't wait to go and enjoy.

Only down side, the trip isn't coming fast enough!!

Aring75,

Thanks for your terrific review. I'm looking forward to trying Afternoon Tea when I visit in October.

Has anyone tried the coffee? I think that my husband might be willing to try this but he doesn't drink tea. I've heard a lot of complaints about the coffee WDW serves nowadays and I wonder if it's the same?

I only drink tea though so this is perfect for me. I'm assuming that this is Twinings tea?

Thanks for the review by the way. I've never been that interested in this until I read your review.

they do the iced tea in a french press, so manybe they do their coffee that way too (instead of the instant they serve all over WDW now)

I tried their garen boquet (the house blend of tea) and it was very good. Mom had the raspberry tea (iced) and it was very good too.

can i get the chamomile tea iced?
you can get any of the teas iced.

thank you, sha_lyn, for the response regarding getting chamomile tea iced - that's exactly what i'll be asking for in august! by the way, what is the "french press" method of making iced tea?

most french presses that I have seen are made of glass. They usually look like a large drinking glass but with thicker glass. the hot water and coffee (or tea) are put in the glass. Then the top goes on. It has a plunger built in that has a disk on the bottom made out of very fine mesh screen. The coffee or tea are allowed to float around in the water as it brews. You then press down the plunger to push all the leaves or grounds to the bottom. Most have a pouring spout, but I have an small insulated on that is made to drink out of and has a travel mug type top.

I have drip coffee maker and an expresso maker but I prefer coffee made in the french press. I haven't bought any loose tea yet to try in it(hard to find aroudn here) but I'm still looking.

I'm assuming that this is Twinings tea?

I believe the teas are all Harney and Sons. I know the special blend is made by them.

That'll work too. I assumed that it might be Twinings since it's served in Great Britain but I'm happy with any good tea. Thanks.
