Hmm, at least it looks like we're on some kind of WDW mailing list! I got a postcard today to complete an on-line WDW survey about our recent stay (May 1 - 6, 2002). It was our first trip to WDW and we can't wait to go back!
Has anyone else ever done one of these surveys? Is there any chance it could be connected to receiving one of the much-coveted resort discount postcards???
Here's hoping!!!

Hi! We got a survey post card in on our last trip in October when we got home. Anyway, I filled it out and yes, we now get all the discount post cards as well. What's funny is that they come addressed to my 4YO son! :)

I assume the survey put us on a mailing list. Although we have been many times before, this is the only time we got the survey and that is when the disount postcards began arriving.

Don't count on it. I filled out several of those after my last stay and never received anything (and I'm a DC, AP, & DVC member, too).

Well, I did the online thing last August after our stay at WL and a paper survey after our stay at FQ in 2000. No discount postcards or emails yet! I wouldn't count on it either. This postcard thing is such a mystery!

We have received them every year and we never get postcards.....

only thing was this year we did the survey online.
:smooth:

Not to be cynical, but do you think survey responses have anything to do with whether or not you get the follow-up resort discount coupons? Our household income falls about mid-range on the survey options and I wonder if they'd think,"Well, they may need more incentive to make another trip soon?" If someone's household income was, say, over $400,000, would they be as likely to receive a discount resort code?
Just trying to figure out the everlasting postcard mystery! :-D

We got one last fall shortly after our stay at the CR, we received
no extra perks, but we did the survey anyways

Yep, done the surveys, on and off line, write letters, e-mail, etc. No postcards. Well, I did get one postcard early last year, when we couldn't use it.
However, with the code that anyone could use a few months ago, the rate for mod I got was the same as those with postcards.

Several years back, I completed a survey that had been mailed to me after a visit. Within a few weeks I got a thank-you letter and a gift certificate worth $25 to use at wdw or tds. I have also done phone and in-person surveys since then and finally got my first postcard a few months ago.

I got the survey card yesterday for our OKW stay 2 weeks ago. I've got it everytime even though it says a "small but significant number" are selected. I do it everytime and never get anything. I've never got a discount postcard.

I received a discount card last Feb. Unfortunately we couldn't go during the specified times. I decided, however, to find out more about these elusive, much coveted discount cards. I called the number and spoke with a very kind, patient (I was full of questions) CM. I tried very hard to get her to admit any "inside info" about the cards. She very kindly, yet firmly stated that the cards are sent "totally random". She told me names and address are gleaned from any number of resources such as past ressies, surveys, registering on the WDW website, and contest registration. According to her, WDW hires an outside marketing firm that acquires the addresses, via computer, from the above resources. So I guess we'll all keep filling out surveys, entering contests, and staying on site in hopes of winning the "discount card lottery".

I guess next time I'm lucky enough to get a card in the mail, a jury duty notice will be there with it! LOL!!

P.S. I tried getting different dates than the ones specified on the card, she wouldn't budge. Oh well!
