and it showed the $50 in Disney Reward Dollars credit for using it the first time! AND, we opened an account in DH's name, and he got his $50 in Disney Reward Dollars too. So... we already have $110 in Disney Reward Dollars between the 2 of us and we've had the cards less than a month! Yippee! That just paid for the Family Magic Tour that we've booked.

We will pay off DH's card and only use my card from now on. Thanks to everyone who sent me the $50 link for the Disney Card!

Glad to hear this. I got my Disney Visa card a little over two weeks ago, and used it right away. So far, the web site shows the things I've charged, but doesn't tell me when my first billing date will be. I hope to see those 50 Disney Reward Dollars show up on my first statement!

A funny little side story: I placed an order with Amazon.com ages ago for 2 copies of the next Harry Potter book, due to come out in July. Before I completed the order, I was offered the chance to open an Amazon Visa account, with a reward of $30 off my next Amazon.com order. It allowed me to open the Visa account and apply the $30 to the order I hadn't yet completed, so the two books wound up costing me less than $6 (with free shipping).

Anyway, since Chase took over BankOne, my Disney Visa and Amazon Visa show up on the same page, after I log in. However, when I first went to set up my Disney user name and password, I tried to make it the same as the Amazon account I already had. Of course, the computer told me that somebody was already using that name. DUH! Yeh! - it's ME!. So, I had to choose a different user name, but I can still get to both accounts with my old one. Don't you think that's kind of funny? I do! (But, then, I guess I'm easily amused.) :rotfl:

I just love all this free money on stuff I'd be buying anyway! And I can't wait for the Harry Potter books either!

ME TOO!!!
And I can't wait for the Harry Potter books either!
One is for me, and one is for my granddaughter who lives in Maryland. I'll see her this weekend when we rendezvous in Pittsburgh where my DD's fiancee currently lives. I'm going to gift wrap a brown box that I received another book in, and enclose a note for my DGD, with the following written on successive parts of the folded note: (front: "In approximately 3 weeks, you'll be receiving a box like this..." - inside: "but it won't be empty. It will contain your very own copy of..." - unfold the page completely: "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince!!!") Yes, she'll have to wait a couple days longer to receive it, but it will be cheaper for me to mail her book from my house. If I had had them delivered to two different addresses, I wouldn't have gotten the free shipping. I warned everybody else in the family that I had pre-ordered it for her, but she doesn't know it's coming. I can't wait to see the expression on her face!

Yep, my DH knows he won't see me for 24 hours as I read it cover to cover! My DS is a huge Harry Potter fan too and dressed like him for Halloween. He looked exactly like him. We just had their b'day party this weekend, and he selected HP. FUN!

Can you give me the link? I've had several snail mail ones come in but nothing that stated $50 for using it the first time--did you have to spend a minimum? Is it the same offer that's on the Disney website? I've only seen free $25 from the Disney Direct store.

Unfortunately, the deal expires today, 6/30. I'd suggest to post here on the budget board to see if anyone has a new $50 offer. That's what I did and got several responses. I'm sorry I couldn't help more. Here's the link to the Disney Visa offer.

yeah, I just found it--bummer it expires today, don't think I could book my trip fast enough for that one! Oh well, just will wait and see what else comes along. Thanks!
