Good morning everyone, it is going to be a beautiful day... why? Because we are heading to CALIFORNIA today!!!!!:woohoo::yay::love::cheer2: We just got our character wake up call, and we are down to the few final things on our to-do list. :laundy:

I really want to say a BIG thank you to EVERYONE on the Disneyland boards. You guys are some of the MOST patient and helpful people on the DIS. I can't say how often I have seen questions regarding the Monte Christo, Blue Bayou, Refillable mugs, crowds (just to name a few) and you guys patiently and kindly answer the questions as if it was the first time it was asked. I have never seen anyone say "well if you did a search you would have found that" or "we just talked about that yesterday, look for the thread", as I have seen on other parts of the DIS.

I am so excited for our trip, and I just wanted to say that I am so thankfull to all of you for all of your help. I know we will have a magical vacation, and you are all to thank!:cheer2::grouphug::love:

(OK, how dorky is it that I am sitting here crying tears of joy, because we are about to go see Mickey Mouse!:rolleyes1 Just hearing his voice on the message this morning sent me over the edge! :upsidedow::MickeyMo :cloud9: )

Awwww!!! Have a WONDERFUL trip! Let us know how it goes! :goodvibes

How did you arrange your wake up call? I remember when I booked the package it was part of it, but I have forgotten all about it. We leave a week from today. Do I need to call Disney Vacation and start a process or will the be contacting me next week to schedule?

No worries! You are among friends that certainly understand. I had the biggest grin last Friday cuz I was going to Disneyland for a day trip. I can just imagine what a great feeling it is to go on vacation to Disneyland. I am very excited for you. Have a great time and post a trip report.

You have a great trip. We leave in the AM and should be in the park by 1600 on Sunday afternoon.

Go to this website... https://secure.uvoxnetworks.com/disneycharactercalls/beta.html

and you can set it up. Be advised that although we put in for 7:00 am, it scheduled it for 7:01, and then they didn't actually call until 7:10. I was worried it might not work. So just when you are planning the call, make sure you have extra time built in to wait for the call.

have fun!

Have an absolutely wonderful time!!!! Those character calls are awesome aren't they?? I had one done for my DD when she turned 8 in the park, we went to DCA for breakfast and then Cinderella called her after to wish her a Happy Bday, she was thrilled!!!!

Can you only get a character call if you have booked a vacation package? Or can anyone arrange it?

I have totally forgotten where you're staying. I wonder about it b/c when we were at DLH in May, the normal wake-up calls were Mickey Mouse (after a brief normal-person-voice saying something). It might just have been DLH, it might have been b/c we were staying concierge, but it's worth asking about.

No, we have APs so we don't book packages, I just found it online and scheduled it, I believe it was $2.49 for the call. WELL worth it to see the look on DDs face!! :) Especially because we'd just had breakfast at AG and we asked the server if Cinderella could sign & deliver and bday card, the card opened to play "A Dream is a Wish" and Cinderella is DD9s favorite and has been since she was about 5 or 6! :) Anyway, I'd found this nice big card at Hallmark that played the song, it had Cinderella's carriage on the front as well, I asked the "handler" if Cinderella could drop it off, she said "we don't normally do that but I can ask" and Cinderella did sign it backstage and gave it to DD. So, she had the card at the restaurant and then about an hour after that she got a call from Cinderella and that just made her whole trip. :)

What a touching story pixiewings71! I wish my kids were young enough to arrange that. Maybe my DD14 when she turns 16. She would get a kick out of that. I take her and her BF to Disneyland for her birthday every year. We can have a nice happy chuckle over that.

Thanks for the info. I am going to check it out. I might even Tweet it out!
