Rats ! no offence Mickey, of course dvc will not offer the discount until after christmas,
they know how many of us are going down. darn i was really thinking about buying them, i guess i could buy them while im down there but i would only be able to use them one day and it would have been nice to use them for the entire stay.

sending pixie dust that your guide got the date wrong and it should be dec. 2.......:

WOW - Great news! I hope this is permanent as ours aren't due for renewal until Sept.

I checked disney.com earlier tonight. AP's are $379 - A, $322 - C; PAP's are $499 - A, $424 - C. There is also what looked like approximately a 6.5% tax on them when buying through the web site.

We have PAP's so Im just darn happy to get a discount. However if they didnt discount them and did discount the ph's then we would just buy them.

I just purchased 3 children's AP's for our Dec. trip and they were $343 each for the child. We did not need the adults so I did not ask. This included 6.5% Florida tax. I got these at the Disney store in Albany, NY.

Will the $100 off apply to children also, anyone know?

There are the two big questions...will this be permanent? and...does the discount apply to children's passes as well?

Now that I think about it...next time we buy passes we'll need 3 adults and only one child....but as of 3/07 we'll need 3 adults and 2 children....this would be perfect for us....as long as they continue to offer it and especially if children's passes are also discounted.

And if they have any clue about things they are creating this discount to keep DVCer's coming to the parks, making extra visits with cash reservations, spending money in park restaurants, etc.... I know our AP's have been the things keeping us away from Universal's parks...why pay for tickets there when we can go to WDW parks all we want?

I wonder if the $ off applies to Fl. Res. AP's?????

This inquiring mind wants to know the same thing!

[...] The purpose is to get you to spend money that you wouldn't have otherwise spent. I wouldn't be surprised at all if the discount only applies to APs. Its purpose: to induce those who are currently using park hoppers to buy APs, spend more time (and more money) in the parks, and ultimately buy more DVC points to suit their new touring needs.
Well, it appears to be something that DVCers wanted; if you you at This New Poll, less than 15% will not be buying the discounted AP/PAP. Fully 25% will be making the jump - and spending more time & money in the parks.

Well done, DVC, for negotiating this perk for us!

I was looking at buying a 7 day park hopper from Hotwire for $302. It looks like an AP would be cheaper in the long run at $279 after the $100 discount.

Got to add taxes. A new AP is $303.

this is just fabulous news!!!:teeth: :teeth:
we always go for a minumum of 9 days so this now ends the discussion of what type of ticket to buy. what makes this even better is that we were going to buy the AP's anyway.

the 400 dollars saved will go to our little romantic trip during the offseason without the kids!!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :hyper:
