Some answers to questions I had pre-cruise in case anyone else has the same:

Thor and captain America were on the boat
Only 3 princesses at the meet and greet (there were 5 on our 2014 magic cruise and 4 on our 2015 fantasy cruise)
Anna, elsa AND Olaf at their meet and greet
New bathrooms btwn cabana 15 & 16 opened 3 weeks ago
Cabana host Michelle from England was around and totally helpful (we were not concierge)
Cabanas 18, 19, 20, 21 are right on top of each other and things were pretty noisy....I would recommend avoiding if possible.
Rice, almond, and soy milk available (have to ask)
Palo brunch is help yourself (servers put food on plates on our fantasy cruise)

Hope that helps!

does the Magic have anything the Fantasy does not? Like a Character Breakfast?
or other things?

wow so Palo really is help yourself? On the Wonder they had the servers do it... it was slightly uncomfortable but you got used to it I thought... also I thought they did it for sanitary reasons?

glad to hear about the bathroom... we were in 18 last year and didn't appreciate the walk all the way to the bathrooms... cabana 18 was our first so we didn't have a reference point but we didn't find it "too noisy"... however there was a community-like feeling since they were so close to each other, the beach in front of cabana 18-21 seemed to be more shared... but obviously no big deal since it was such a small amount of people

also would be curious about the character breakfast

Editted to say - if there was a big, loud group in the big cabana #21 then I could definitely see it being "too noisy"... guess we just got lucky we had a subdued group of neighbors

It has the marvel stuff and the new tangled musical. It also has a way better water slide in my opinion (aquadunk vs Aquaduck). I thought the dining room service on the magic was waaaayyyy better. My husband missed the fantasy and the fancy stuff like on demand on the tv

We did a 5 night...character breakfasts are on 7 night and more cruises.

We had 12 last time....more foliage (= more shade, more privacy), more than just a couple of feet between cabanas.

I would like to know also about craft beer. Also is the tangled musical on the 4 night

Tangled is one of the productions shows, it's on all Magic cruises along with Dreams and Twice Charmed.

Where did they move the smoking area to?
The smoking area that was moved was the one on deck 9, starboard side, Quiet Cove. It was moved to the port side and a bit more forward, behind some partitions.

Were you concierge? If so were drinks still free at the Cove Cafe? I know there is the lounge now, but curious if they kept this. There was just a thread about fireworks for pirate night. What time were they at on your cruise? TIA

Not concierge. Fireworks at 8 pm

Would like to have first hand knowledge from someone who has actually been on the Magic since the smoking area changes, as to where the smoking area has been moved and whether it affects any portside area on Deck 9.

There was still a smoking area on the port side way forward. I took a nice nap in the sun in the adult area on the most forward lounge chair facing the ocean...saw a few smokers going past, only smelled a tiny bit like cigarettes and I was very close to the barrier. You can't smell anything from the outdoor cove cafe seating (more to the aft)

Thanks for the info. Good to know from someone who just got off the Magic.

we're in cabana 5 this year and I hear the privacy is way better than 18 so looking forward to it

another question for you - did you go to the pirate show? if so was it like the dream with the fun bone guy on funnel vision or is more like a rock concert like on the wonder?

also did you happen to notice if people sat down or largely stayed standing when viewing the pirate show...

THANKS!

We went to the before part (Davy jones challenge thing) which was interactive games on funnel vision. We stayed for maybe 5 mins of pirate party but left bc it was too loud for my kid. It was characters on stage jumping and dancing around to songs. Everyone was standing. We watched the fireworks from our room (starboard side)
