Just got off phone with Disney! B-day question...

I'm new to the board and lovin reading all the posts!

My heart is beating fast - I just got off the phone with Disney reserving room for Spring Break 2009! I know it's so far off, but I can be excited tonight! We are going to be staying at POFQ for the first time and my husband is going for the first time since he was three...can't wait!

My son will be turning 4 while we are there - does Disney do anything special in any way? Anyone prefer a certain park/restuarant for b-days?? And do people decorate windows at POFQ - I never thought to do that but it's a great idea to personalize your room and make it your own and I think it would be fun for my boys!

I'll be interested to see what others have to say about this. We were originally planning on going to WDW at that same time. Both my DD's (as well as my DH) have March B-days. DD#2 would have had her 4th b-day just before we left and #1 would have had her 6th b-day while at Disney. But we decided to go in October during their fall school break instead. Well my b-day is in October so now we will be celebrating my birthday while in Disney. Definitely the best b-day present I've ever gotten. I plan on doing the 1900 Park Fare princess dinner one night and getting the Grand Floridian portrait package while there as well. And if I get any protests I'll just say hey it is my b-day But I am also interested in what else you can do special for b-days. I think I read that you can tell them at your hotel it is your b-day and get a special pin.

You can get a birthday pin at each park. Take a look at the cake thread.. you can order some amazing cakes to be delivered to your room and where you are dining.

For the windows.. yes, we decorated ours at POR.

My nephew was at Disney on his birthday. They told the hotel and they had a special thing for him, maybe ballons and a note. then get the pin to wear at the park. My son had just turned 5 days before we got into the park. I still got him a pin since the trip was a birthday thing! Gymboree sells adorable birthday shirts. He had on with a fire truck that says birthday boy!!

We celebrated our DD's 4th bday last month while at Disney. We did the PPP that night and she got LOTS of attention from CM's while wearing her Birthday Princess sash that she received at BBB earlier in the day. Definitely stop and get a birthday button and let him wear it the whole trip if he wants... the extra attention is a lot of fun! We also had dinner at the Crystal Palace and Pooh brought her a cupcake with a candle and the servers sang Happy Birthday. They gave her a super cute card signed by Pooh and friends.
