We arrived on June 14 and stayed the first evening at the BCV. We were in Villa 566, which is a studio. It is a very large studio with an enormous hallway, two closets and a very large balcony. The view was over the entranceway to the resort and over the pool. However, as we prepared for bed that evening, we later learned (loudly!) that the room is right next to the elevator (a fact not shared by the front desk at check-in). They offered to move us when we called to complain, but it was after 11:00pm, we were ready for bed and we were checking out the next day for OKW. So, we stayed, but I would offer this advice – avoid this room (and undoubtedly the ones under it). The elevator motor noise from this room is very annoying. The freezer was not also working, a relatively minor glitch for our short stay.

The parks were not overly crowded, but the park hours at the Magic Kingdom were changed to accommodate the larger-than-anticipated crowds. Most nights the park was open until 10:00 p.m., which was a lovely surprise, since we had expected an earlier close. The weather was fine up until Wednesday, when the rains moved in. The Great Movie Ride was open at MGM (I had thought it was being renovated), but The Hunchback of Notre Dame set is now being used for storage……I dearly missed seeing this show; I thought it was excellent.

We then moved over to OKW and stayed in unit 4622, a two-bedroom villa on South Point Road. It was lovely and had a terrific view of the water with the boats going past. The only (minor) irritiation was that when you opened the silverware drawer, the dishwasher opened along with it! Apparently, the dishwasher was fairly new and the fit was a wee bit off! Otherwise, the villa was fabulous and we really enjoyed it.

We stayed again at the BCV on our last night and were in unit 469, a studio. This overlooked the back of Epcot and we were able to see the fireworks, which was terrific. The unit was fine; no complaints.

We used Tiffany Towncar for the first time and we were very pleased with their service. Our driver met us at the airport and picked us up as expected for our return home. We will definitely use them again.

The Gourmet Pantry closed as of Sunday, 6/22. The lady we spoke with told us it was being renovated, but she did not know what it would eventually be used for. I suspect it will reopen in some similar reincarnation since it is so close to Saratoga Springs, but that is only my guess.

We had a wonderful time and are planning our next trip back home as soon as possible!

I'm glad that you had a good trip. Only 10 more days before we go "home" again!

We ate lunch at the Gourmet Pantry on Saturday for the last time, too.

I really hope they hurry and put something in there. The choices for something quick to eat are slim at DD!

Glad you had a nice trip. I was at OKW this past weekend, too, Building 39) doused in buckets of rain.

Lucky for me, I have another trip coming up this summer!

Thanks for the nice report.

The Gourmet Pantry is being replaced by an Earl of Sandwich shop. It's the first in what some men from England hope to develop into a U.S. c hain.

Glad to hear about the great service from Tiffany Towncar. We are using them for the first time when we go home to VWL in 10 days!!!!!!!!!

Glad you had fun!!

Thanks for the grea report.

Sorry to hear about Gormet pantry! I LOVE that place!

We stayed in room 563, right next door for six nights the first week in June. Same noise. We kind of got used to it after a while, and thankfully it let up late at night. We talked about moving, but didn't want to give up the wonderful Illuminations view! Diana

Oh No! I hope they at least keep the great bakery and candy items and all the great Mickey kitchen stuff! I love this place!

In the studios, the freezer portion will only make ice if the cold control knob is turned up near max cold.

Thanks, that is good to know. Now I just hope they keep the great bakery and candy items. I will admit a deli type place that will make made to order good deli sandwiches and salads will be a nice addition vs the premade sandwiches and salads the GP currently offers, BUT we must keep the bakery/dessert items, the great fudge and candy apples!! LOL!!
