Just got back from a four night stay at the hard rock. crowds were manageable. (IOA was crowded on sat., but w. FOTL, I walked right past a 60 minutes spidey stand by line (I almost felt guilty about it... almost!)

my big fear for the trip was that mummy wouldn't be test running. supposedly, it started running again on the 12th. on the 13th, I got four rides in when it opened around 3 pm. and by the 16th, I think I had like 15 rides already. On sunday, they started doing express, so that totally rocked. The mummy audio-animatronic was cool, but hardly the second coming in my opinion. the ride is smooth, but the first two stops could have been less jerky (but I guess that is the point somewhat) I can see where people aren't thrilled w. the ending, but I wonder how else they could do it. I think one problem this summer will be the lockers-I can't imagine those lockers being enough for the need.

If anyone hase anyone other questions, feel free to ask!

I agree with you...I hate the locker area...not really that many lockers (especially with the crowds they are expecting, and the fact that NOTHING loose can go on the ride, so practically every dang person has to get one). Also, the space is so small....You can barely fit two people in the width, and since locker rental screens are directly across from each other, on either side, it makes it tough to get around. Oh well...they didn't have too much room to work with, I guess...just got fustrating when it would take 10 minutes just to get a locker. :o

I thought the animatronic was pretty sweet...but it was only working once when I went on the ride.

Glad you got to experience it!

We're going next week, I'm bringing my 21-year-old nephew, his girlfriend, myself and husband, can you give more info on this ride, I never heard of it??? Why do you need lockers, how jerky is it, do you go upside down?? This is important to me only :earseek: because I'm not big on extremely rough rides like big rollercoaster, etc. I know they're all gonna want to try this if its new. Thanks for the infor!

I can't wait - thanks for the info! I hear it is FAST...

Joni - I was really surprised at how fast it felt and the airtime was great!

tink - I was describe the ride as spiderman meets rock and roller. the coaster itself is smooth, but there are some jerky stops. If you can handle space mtn (the jerkiest coaster around), then you should have no problem.

you need the lockers b/c there is nowhere to store anything on the ride. trust me, the cast members will not let you on if you have something w. you. the lockers are free for the first two hrs, but I think there won't be enough of them during peak periods.

It is not jerky, and you don't flip upside down. No carry-ons are permitted because of safety. A carry-on, even one that's attached around your waist, risks either damaging you or interfering with the restraint. Also, if it's loose it could fly out of your hands and hit someone (ala the Space Mountain incident at WDW), or be damaged by the fire & water effects.

I'm really tempted now, I LUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUV Spiderman, its one of my favorite all time rides, it sounds really super coooooool. Don't really like Rock N Roll rollercoaster tho except for the take off part, don't like all the flips, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I agree on the locker area, way toooooo small for the number of people who need to use them..which is about 99% of the people riding it. They check you right at the entrance and send back anyone who has not gotten the word that no carry ons of any type are allowed. So no one should figure they will just take their stuff and avoid the lockers.

Stops were a bit jerky but this is just a tech rehearsal and the bugs ....literally ....are not all worked out of it yet.

Then I won't even bring the camera into the park the morning I visit. Too bad there aren't other lockers near by. I guess people could use the ones at the front of the park, but those are probably the $5 per day kind. There's a bunch at MIB, but that's at the back of the park. Wow, hope they add more lockers, even if it means putting them on the sidewalk.

So let me see if I get this right, this ride is more about speed and the virtual reality type rides like Spiderman then the roller coaster flips and upside down, huge drop rides?? Any help appreciated. Trying to get my nerve up. Getting excited, just 6 more days! :hyper: :teeth:

tink, I should let others answer this for you, and here's why. One of the first few times I was in line, I was w. a family and the mother was clearly nervous and her husband and teenage son had not been on yet. she had done space w/o a problem and I thought that she would be OK. by the time she got off the ride, she wanted to kill me for talking her on. It is fast in the coaster parts so if not a coaster fan generally, then I would think twice. maybe it would help if you gave a list of thrill rides you have done and have not done.

Thanks. Maybe I'll send my hubbie and nephew and his gf on first. I don't mind speed, its weird, I just hate flipping upside down and extremely huge drops that roller coasters do, its not the speed. Anyway, we're going next week and if I do go on or my family go on I'll let you all know how it was! Can't wait to get there! :Pinkbounc :teeth:

I also do not like huge rollercoaster drops, and there were none on Mummy. My 10yo was very nervous before riding it the first time (he thought that I was lying and that it really went upside down  me, lie???) , but he really liked it after riding it. He won't do upside down coasters and coasters with big drops.

I want to ride so baaaaaddddd! Where are the ride reports? I want to read 'em. Spoilers and all!:p

TigerLaw, weren't you the one going down to Universal to propose to your girlfriend? Or am I thinking of someone else?

(I am not a stalker ;) ; I just always notice your signature line since I also had a 30th birthday trip to Disney in 2002).

We have a stalker among us!!!!!! LOL.....

Just kidding AlexandNessa. I think it's great that we have such a great family hear that we remember each other's special occassions.

How are ya? Haven't seen you on in a few.....hours....:p ;)

Good Lord, what a loser I must sound like! Imagine if I'm thinking of the wrong person -- I'd have just hijacked a perfectly good thread for no reason!!

Not at all my friend. I was just teasin' ya. I hope I did not offend you. I think it's great of you! Really!

T&B - Thanks, that really helps! Thats exactly how I feel about coasters myself, I think if your 10 year old can do it maybe I can too! :sunny:

you are correct that was me! long story short, after seeing all the trouble some of my friends was having w. their wedding planning (in terms of getting the vendors they wanted) we started planning. (my girlfriend knew the ring was coming on the trip just not how or when) anyway, I could tell she was feeling uncomfortable going to reception places, ceremony locations, etc. w/o a ring, so I did the proposing at our favorite restaurant her at home. (it was too funny-her first words were "aren't you going to get down on a knee?" I had totally forgotten that part) so now we're engaged and set for a wedding on her birthday next year may 13, 2005. (and its friday the 13th too!)

one last story-I had told her the story about the room safe robbery at WL so we had to check the safe all the time b/c neither of us felt comfortable enough to have her wear the ring at the parks (esp. w. dudley and popeye!)
