Had a GREAT GREAT time!!! Disneyland Paris is wonderful!!!
Got back sunday evening around 9pm but couldn't post as we were all tired, happy, emotional etc. It was a wonderful holiday, stressful at times but probably the best holiday ever.
Here's a quick summary of our trip:
Day 1: We left on wed morning, got to Waterloo to catch the Eurostar train all the way to the park. The journey was nice, very plesant and almost quiet and the train was full of very excited children. When we got there, there was a bus waiting at the train station, waiting to take us to the hotel. We stayed at Sequoia Lodge (not even 10 mins walk to the park). Saw the park from the station and couldn't wait to go and see what it looked like. Had to wait for the room to be ready, then DD had a little nap and finally around 4.30-5pm we headed off to the park. Had a look around, went on a few rides. DD esp loved 'It's a Small World' boat ride - still singing the song and doing my head in. After 2 hours, we went for dinner at Anette's Diner. The food was ok-ish, nothing special but we didn't really expect it to be. Went for a walk afterwards and back to the hotel lobby for DD to have a little play with the blocks and colour things in. And after a while, went back to the room for a good-night sleep.
Day 2: Got up early and had breakfast at 9am (BTW, when we checked in we had a pick a time for breakfast as it was too busy in the hotel. We had different times for a different day and for the saturday they offered us to have breakfast in the park which sounded fab!). In the hotel lobby, there was Winnie the Pooh and Pluto and DD had a photo taken with them. Very exciting for a little girl. DH wasn't feeling that well but still joined us to the park after breakfast. Spent a whole day in the park, they went on a few rides ('Small World' again, the cups, the carousel) while I waited in the queue to meet the princesses. It was long 1.5 hours wait only for a photo but DD was dying to meet them so I had to do it. The weather was pretty bad, rainy at times and quite cold. Anyway, got the photos done and went for a quick lunch. By that time, Jeremy was feeling really bad and went back to the hotel. DD fell asleep in the buggy and I stayed with her to see the parade. You have to see that if you go!!! It was great! But when she got up, she said she wasn't feeling well, threw up all over the place and didn't stop throwing up all afternoon... And neither did DH. Guess they both caught a bad stomach virus or the food at Anette's was bad, who knows. I was ok but very tired, annoyed and frustrated. Had dinner at the hotel, it was a buffet but not that nice. After a long day in the park, went to the room with two sicky people hoping that friday would be better.
Day 3: Felt very tired as I was up all night checking on DD and DH. She seemed warm and I gave her Calpol which made her sleep a bit better. She was quite tired in the morning, cause she was so unwell the previous day so we decided to take a break from the park and went for a walk around the hotels in the morning. She finally managed to calm down, the weather was lovely and we all spent the morning in the playground outside the hotel which was just perfect, small but nice. Had lunch by the lake and DD went for a nap. In the afternoon, we went to the park, spent 2-3 hours there, went on the Dumbo ride, Casey Jr. Le Petit Train du Cirque (Dumbo's Train), visited Sleeping Beauty's Castle and had pizzas at Pizza Bella Notte (food was ok, cheap for the park though but not too bad - would recommend it!). Went to the shops, bought ice cream and went back to the hotel.
Day 4: We had breakfast in the park, got there at 9am just as the park opened. There were loads of people already, guess cause it was saturday and people all over France came to the park. The queues were hideous. The shortest you'd wait for was 45mins which was very boring for DD but we took turns while one of us entertained her. They went for a carausel ride while I went into the Snow White house (wouldn't recommend it for a small child, it was very dark and very scary). And then I went to queue for Le Pays des Contes de Fées (the story time while riding on a boat, really nice I must say). It was very hot and we decided to go by the lake again to have lunch and then take DD for a nap in the hotel. In the afternoon, I went to a few shops, did a bit of shopping while they stayed in the hotel and then met me outside. Wandered around and then went for dinner at Rainforest Cafe which was ok but nothing special and went back to the park to wait for the fireworks on sat evening at 11pm. Felt too tired and couldn't last, DD was tired too so we missed all of that... Shame but DH said it only lasted for 10mins so guess not really worth staying up for it.
Day 5 (last day): Had nice breakfast in the hotel, checked out and went to the park. Only went on the Disney Train which took us around the park. It was a very hot day and we were all baking in the train but managed to stay on for the whole journey. It was nice. I booked a table for lunch at Cafe Mickey and I must say, even though it was far too expensive, it was the best food we had in the park
!!! I would highly recommend it! The Disney characters wander around and come to your table so DD was in heaven!!! She absolutely loved it!
After lunch, she slept in the buggy for a while, and then we went to see the Disney Parade for the last time before getting the train back.
It was a great experience and we're all sad we're back... Wish it lasted longer...
Didn't spend a lot, bought DDs b'day present there, got her Sleeping Beauty castle with all of the princess characters with the princes of course and a few other bits and things. Managed to NOT overdo it even tho we bought some things we didn't really need but still... The weather was lovely except for one day, too hot at times but still sunny and warm.
Love,
Ema
