LOVED it!! Very spacious suite. It's 538 Sq. feet, so the suite was great for our family with 2 kids, 9 and 14. Having 2 bathrooms was so awesome! The beds were exceptionally comfortable.

Housekeeping went above and beyond what they needed to do - our daughter was scared to sleep in the other room (anxiety issues) and we didn't want her to kick us in her sleep by sleeping in the King size bed with us on our side of the suite ( She is 9 years old, tallest in her classroom, and can sure pack a punch when she kicks in her sleep) so we placed a couple of the huge pillows from the kids room for her to sleep on, on the floor in our room, with sheets, comforter, and pillow. Housekeeping (6th floor, thank you ladies so much!!) left us with a SUPERBLY made mini-bed for our daughter each day, even though we left a note saying that it was o.k. to leave it there as was. :goodvibes Our daughter commented on what a great job they did on her bed. She was very grateful, and literally fell asleep the moment her head hit the pillow.

All of the staff at Hojo's was super courteous, and our experience there was fantastic. Thank you so much to all!

Groceries from Von's arrived on time and our fridge stayed perfect temp. the whole time through. Von's brought them right up to our room. The microwave was very handy.

The Heavenly Beds were made up perfectly each day - linens were crisp and clean as were the towels. Oh my gosh - I wish I knew how to make up a bed like that! The time and care spent by house-keeping was to be commended. They also made sure to leave us decaff coffee as we had requested that via note, which was very nice of them!!

The pool was *WARM*!!! Our 9 year old daughter swam for it for an hour last night, and the temp. was great!! The sun had already gone down, it was dark outside, around 8:00 pm, but she found the temperature to be perfect. Then, a hop, skip and a jump away to Pirate's Cove and we watched the fireworks. We loved that they have a bathroom at the Pirate's Cove area, very handy for spending a long time at the pool. Housekeeping came by to pick up towels and drop more off, when we were there but there were enough towels prior to that.

The 8 min. walk to and from the Disneyland gates was do-able for sure for our family (I am pooh sized, size 2 - 3 X), twice a day! McD's was half-way to Hojo's so we tended to stop there a lot. Excellent food quality and prices, excellent customer service there as well.

We LOVED the free in-room safe! WiFi worked great. Freeway noise was definitely easily tolerable - we have a son with sensory issues and he didn't even comment on it - did we hear it? Yes... but it is more like white noise, and though you do hear it, you can easily tune it out as a soothing sound.

'Check in' and 'check out' was a breeze!! The staff was able to accommodate us for an early check-in. :) Cool! Rates were calculated perfectly upon check-out. My toll-free calls really were toll-free. :) No extra charges for talking to T-mobile for a loooong time trying to get my daily web pass working on my mobile phone so I could use the mousewait app for my droid, which by the way is a pretty decent and accurate app!

The Keurig coffee machine made perfectly brewed coffee daily, we all enjoyed it very much.

The bathrooms had been scrubbed clean, and the carpet was clean as well. Our key cards worked well, too.

Elevator was always quick and efficient, and we never had any waits. (6th floor.)

Yep, Disneyland is a great place to be, but Hojo's is a great place to hang your hat at night, when you really need a home away from home.

:thumbsup2

P.S. The gift shop was amazing!! Everything you could need, and then some. In the games room Air hockey was so good that my daughter got a sore arm from trying to beat her Dad and her brother. :)

P.P.S. Who can tell us what movie or TV show was being filmed at LAX today around 8:30 am?? We witnessed trucks hosing down the streets, some kind of oil tank truck, wardrobe truck, cams. etc., close to terminal 2. Anyone?? Bueller?? ;)

Great report! I am still hoping someone cancels their kids' suite @ HoJo when we are there in October. This just reinforces how much I want to stay there.

Great trip! We are also flying into LAX...about $250 cheaper. Did you use the disney buses to get to your hotel or did you use something else? We are planning on getting round trip bus tickets for around $27 with a coupon. What were your thoughts on transportation?

With a family of 4, we find that going with a private shuttle (non-shared means no other stops!) is less expensive and faster, to get to LAX and back. We use Execucar Express and they use a Honda Odyssey. On time all of the time for us, we have used their service at least 10 times; once you get to LAX and have your luggage in hand, you phone them and they are at the curb within 10 min. or less we have found. We paid $72 each way, and $10 tip for the driver (you can choose what to tip them) but with the price of gasoline it is possible that their rates have gone up. The ride was 35-40 min. each way. We came in on a Sunday around 11 am and left Saturday around 8:30 am. Hope this helps! :goodvibes

glad you enjoyed your stay at HOJOs, also great to know about private shuttle, it would probably be cheaper for us a family of 6.

Darn it, it can only seat up to 5 for the $72 one-way service! The next one up is $107 for up to 9 people (private van) - works out to be $11.88 per person, plus any tip.

There is a shared van for $96 but you would be taking a chance that 3 more people (individuals) might share the ride with you, so not worth it I don't think. (?)

Thanks for the info on the Hojo kids suite! We will be there next week, and I CAN'T WAIT!!! With the negative reviews we've heard lately, I'm relieved to hear some great recent reviews!

Your room sounds amazing! I am going to look into that for our next trip now. Thank you so much.

Isn't hojo great? I keep hearing about the kids suites and really want to try one but I never see them available on the website.

The staff was fantastic to us too. Really made our trip.
