Just got AP voucher...can I order DDE?

I got my AP voucher today and would like to order DDE card but we are leaving for Disney on July 16....what if I don't get the DDE card in time? I know everyone has said 8 weeks...I think I'm about 7 weeks out. Should I chance it, and if it doesn't come will they send me a confirmation letter? What if that doesn't come in time? Can I even order a DDE with only an AP voucher? What would you do????? Where's the tylenol...

I am in the same position - holding AP vouchers, wanting DDE. When I called, they told me I had to supply an AP number, which I won't have until I convert the voucher to pass (once I am there). They assured me that I could get the DDE on a same-day fax for pick-up from the hotel front desk. If you find out something that let's us secure them sooner than actually having a pass number, let me know - I would like to have it in hand as well - especially since I wasn't planning to convert the voucher to pass until Day #3 of trip - before check-out at the AP hotel rate...

YES!!! I did so this month! I received our PAPs late April and called then to order the DDE...CM suggested that I wait till closer to the date we plan to activate the PAPs so they will expire closer to the same time. So, I waited till May 10...never been a very patient person...and using the number on the back of the PAP voucher (green credit card thing) I was able to purchase my DDE. CM said to expect my confirmation letter via snail mail within 7 - 10 working days...it came in 7. So we are all set for our June 1st trip.

As for the fax sent to the resort...not sure if that is possible these days from what I've read here. Those people who had received an email confirmation or a snail mail confirmation which has expired are having to go to Epcot to aquire a new letter. Why the letter? Because it has a special watermark on the paper.

My suggestion is to call back to the DDE and try to get the card with the voucher...if the CM you get doesn't, ask to speak to another or call back again. It can be done because myself and others here have.

Thanks I'm gonna call today and see if I can get it...at first I wasn't sure, but yesterday I won 40 bucks on a two dollar scratch off , so it's like it's only costing 10 dollars...can't beat that! Thanks again!

We received a letter a week later to use when we are there since the cards most likely won't come in before we leave June 4. We ordered it a couple of weeks ago, so less than a month before we leave. The cast member said if you don't get the letter than to call back and a letter can be available for pickup at Epcot.

The only problem with having the letter is there is only one, unlike with the cards you get two. It's on letterhead so copying it won't work, oh well looks like we'll all have to eat together!

Our letter expires June 30, 2005, but the cards will be good until I think June 30, 2006.

This is exactly the same for us...expires on June 30, 2006 and we will activate our PAPs on June 1st so it's not a problem at all. And as for only one copy of the letter, yep! Same thing, but we do make a point of eating together anyway unless it's just a snack, so not really a problem either.

Now that they are sending out confirmation letters via snail mail on special watermarked paper, it sounds like there might be a problem if someone decides to make a photocopy of the letter for his/her spouse. So if someone needs two copies of the letter, maybe they can request this when they order their DDE cards. Since you're entitled to two cards it seems reasonable to request two copies of the confirmation letter, particularly since it sounds like you can no longer get by with photocopying the original.
