Well, it wasn't really me who got the postcard, but my grandmother. It was sent to my house addressed to her. The ONLY time she ever used my address is when we went on a Disney Cruise three years ago and I left my address for her for a Castaway Club membership. Since then, she has not returned to WDW. But every three months, like clockwork, she receives a postcard.

So why is it that I, who always has a pending ressie at WDW, is an AP, etc., etc., etc., never receives any postcards?

I guess the answer is play hard to get and they'll beg for your business.

I got a postcard to my mom but at my address too. My mother has never lived with us. She has never been on a Disney cruise either. What she has done though is go to WDW with myself, husband and kids about 5 years ago. At that time they asked for everyone's names for the reservation since I booked two rooms and they needed the names so I gave them. They didn't ask for her address as I was paying for both rooms. So I think Disney is trying as best they can to bring in business. They are looking for people they believe haven't been there in a while. Since they don't have the addresses of these people but do have the names they are just sending them to the addresses of who they stayed with before. If that makes any sense! What they don't know is my mother and I have been going back to WDW twice a year for the last 2 years and would have went without a postcard!

Eh.. I just called CRO and asked to be placed in their e-mails and postards list and get them.

Beachbunny,
Disney already has your business, as you book frequently. Your Grandmother, on the other hand, has not taken a Disney vacation since you cruised.
Unfortunately, the postcards are not designed to reward frequent guests. They are used as a marketing ploy to generate new business. That's why she gets them and you don't.
I'm sure that's not always the case though. Many frequent travelers may get them also. But that is the main reason for the postcards.
