I posted this over at the Theme Parks board. But, I wanted to share my excitement with everyone over here. And I was kind of wondering about some things about Disneyland for guests who use a wheelchair.
My husband and I just found out that we get to go to Disneyland in March as we were invited to go by our support provider who is planning to take her whole group of special-needs adults that she supports besides my husband and me. One has Down Syndrome, one has autism (and all of the other major mental issues associated with it), and one of them has just mental issues. Besides my husband having cerebral palsy, and me with my bone disorder that requires the use of a wheelchair.
My husband and I of course said, "Yes", and we're both hoping that we have enough money in our disability funds to be able to pay for us to go.
I haven't been to Disneyland since 2001 when I went with my high school transition group at that time. So, I was wondering if there was any changes to Disneyland, and California Adventure since then. We also may be visiting Universal Studios Hollywood. But, we hadn't heard anything on that yet. Our support provider was able to get park hoppers for five days while we are there.
I'll be bringing my manual wheelchair this time because my support provider had rented a regular van for all of us as she found out that renting the wheelchair-accessible vans for the time we are there was very expensive, and not within her budget since she is the only one who will be driving. We're going to be staying at a hotel that is within walking distance of the parks. Or, taking the shuttle if we wanted to.
Does Disneyland have the FastPass option like Disney World does?
