Just found a picture of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea

I may have ridden it when I was very small, but it looks from the picture like it was on a track? What exactly happened in the ride?

My dad and I rode it in 1983, when we got off my dad said whatever the hip word was back then that meant lame, I still laugh when I think of it. :teeth:

I did not get to ride it, either, so I would love to hear what happened on the ride. That one picture makes it look huge, but with Ariel's Grotto and the Pooh Playground, the area looks small.

I loved it as a child! The way some of you have described it though, makes me glad it's gone b/c I would probably not like it as an adult! You know how big and different things are when you are little. And you don't notice flaws the way you do now! So I'll just remember it the way my little mind processed it. ;)

I never got to ride it. Maybe a duh question but where was it located?

it was right behind Dumbo. Across from what was Mr. Toads Wild Ride which is now Winnie the Pooh.

BostonRob,

By any chance, could you be thinking of the small Nautilas model that is in the Que line of the Living Seas Pavillion. I am not sure, but I think it may be an original used in the film "20,000 leagues under the sea".
I also wish they would bring the attraction back and perhaps use real fish.

I seem to remember reading about the subs (or pieces of the subs) being sold off. I also seem to remember reading that one of the subs appears somewhere in a present attaction, but i can't rememer where. I sure somebody will enlighten us.
Lot's of info on 20,000 Leagues (and other departed rides) at: http://waltdatedworld.bravepages.com/id40.htm

Hey--did you all know that there is a secret "hidden submarine" in the Pooh playground? It is inside the big tree, just above the arched doorway (without the door), engraved into the tree.

Pretty cool! Because it's a secret "nod" to the attraction that used to be there in it's place.

Check it out!

BRING IT BACK!!!!!

Man they killed one of my favorite rides, for nothing. Great pics though.

Anyone else confused by "replacing 20,000 Leagues with a Nemo attraction"?

Nemo was in 20,000 Leagues.

I LOVED this ride growing up. My brother got scared on it sometimes (which is weird because it was not every time we rode it) and they would let him sit in the dome of the sub so that he could look outside---I think he just wanted to sit in the "special" seat ;)
