Just for fun...If you could live at any DVC property which one would you choose?

OKW. OKW is not my favorite resort, but I think it would be the one best suited for the long term. If I were to seriously consider a 5-6 week DVC stay I would pick OKW for sure. I guess maybe that is why I don't prefer to stay at OKW for our week long Disney trips ... it seems like a regular apartment in a development to me and not a "vacation".

I think it would be between OKW and SSR for me. Though neither are my home resort, I think they seem the most "homey" for some reason.

You can drop my mail at the doorstep of a Vero Beach cottage!!!!!:cool1:

Second choice would be a 2 or 3 bedroom at OKW -- and I vacation over at BWV!!!

Definitely BWV! I think about this often actually ;) My DH and I love Epcot first and foremost. We also love the Boardwalk Bakery and being able to walk to DHS for a carrot cake cookie every now and again (yes - much of our trip is spent roaming for treats). I would be happy in a studio just for the worst of the winter even (like January through March). Ah, bliss... :goodvibes

Does anyone know what the points are selling for at OKW? Do you have
to buy a certain amount?

Thanks

Up at the top of this board, near the bird, is a list of some of the resales currently available, from one reseller (there are others also). Unlike buying direct from Disney, which has a minimum of 160 points, you can buy any amount you can find a contract for.

I'd live at SSR for certain! I love that place and it's most "homey." I could walk over to HOB every night and get my blackened chicken sandwich and whiskey and listen to some music.... ahhhhhhhh. please don't pinch me.

Onsite definitely our home OKW :thumbsup2; offsite HHI

but it'd be no hardship for me to deal with living at any of the other

DVC resorts :goodvibes

Easy question. OKW for sure. It feels the most like a home and the least like a hotel.

I know OKW has the larger rooms but we would pick BCV. Oh how nice it would be not knowing what to make for dinner and just be able to walk over to WS and eat there!

I suppose it depends somewhat on the Villa itself. If we're saying that it could be a Grand Villa, then OKW, or BWV, or maybe even BLT. Even SSR or AKV would be OK in a GV.

The GV's would feel more like a 'home'.

If it can only be a 2-B/R villa, then definitely OKW.....

1. Room Size
2. Full size kitchen, larger refrigerator with ice maker, etc.
3. Full size laundry
4. Close in parking

No contest - would have to be OKW for the reasons given by Caskbill above.

In order of importance for me would be:

1. Spacious accommodation
2. Parking right outside
3. Great kitchen area
4. Separate full size laundry room

I've stayed at OKW during Jan/Feb a couple of times and have met quite a few people who do stay there for long periods in the winter. I can but dream ...... :cloud9:

I thought this would be an easy decision, but after thinking about it for a while, I changed my pick. Even though neither of my choices are my favorite place to stay while on vacation, If I were to chose a place to live day in and day out, I'd have to pick either SSR or OKW (or BWV). (For my vacations, which I understand was not part of the question in this post, I'm picking BCV).

If I had to live there full time-it would be a 2 bedroom or grand villa at SSR. My first instinct was Boardwalk, but then I thought about living with the noise every single day...and decided that the quiet of SSR would be much better for full time living.

My first instinct was to go with a 2bedroom at BCV's. Close enough to the action but still tucked away with a nice woods view.

I've never stayed in a grand villa but I would guess AKV's or perhaps BWV's would be my choice. We loved the theming when we stayed at a 2brm at OKW but the beds will prevent us from returning.

Well if it were home and a GV then I'd go AK. We could use the pool table to store and fold clothes since we wouldn't have our treadmill to throw them over.

Ironically, i would say SSR. It's got the homely feel and relaxing environment. But as a vacationer, SSR would be my least fav.

BCV Villa!!!! close to the epcot and a short distance to BWV but quiet.
