Just feel like "talking" about our upcoming trip with fellow Disney lovers!

Did you read the title of this post?

The plan is that DH and I are leaving for our trip in 9 days. I scheduled 2 Tupperware parties for Thursday to make a little extra cash to bring with us. My niece and nephew's birthday party is Saturday, The Blue Angels are flying near our house this weekend. And then there is the packing and getting ready to go....dropping the boys off at Grammy's the night before we leave since the flight is so early.

The plan WAS NOT for me to come down with a 102.5 degree fever last night. Then to feel like total crud all day today, with my fever still going up to 101.5. I've got some sinus drainage and coughing. And I had no appetite today for almost the whole day.

So now I'm wondering what's going on with me? Will I feel good for our trip next week? Will DH and the boys stay healthy?

I've been praying about it and just trying to relax - I can't change anything anyway - but this is really a bummer!

I just found some codeine cough syrup so I took it. Let's hope I sleep tonight and feel an improvement in the morning. If not, it's off to the doctor. :-(

We are going in two months for our 17th anniversary trip, without kids. ;) I can't wait.

We did choose to rent a car. The total came to $129. for a week through priceline. I think it will be worth it. Especially since I want to go to the outlets this trip. LOL

Feel better SOON. I think that's always my biggest worry when planning a trip. You have enough time to feel better I'm sure. I'd suggest going to dr. anyway even if you're feeling better today. Better safe than sorry..........and I'd beg for some meds too. Never hurts. Take care of yourself!!!!!!

Wow, that's a great price for a week car rental. Good tip to check out Priceline!

Thanks for the well wishes. I did go to the Dr. today. She's thinking it's bronchitis. I told her my sad story about how we are leaving for our anniversary trip in a week, etc.... and she gave me antibiotics and an inhaler. She also warned me that you are WAY more prone to sunburn even up to 10 days after stopping antibiotics. She gave me the one that had the least of that effect, but she told me to slather on the sunscreen and reapply often.

Here's hoping that I'll see a big improvement even by tomorrow, and that I can get back to planning, preparing, packing, and all those other fun things I should be doing now instead of coughing and laying in bed all day watching tv and trying to sleep.

Yuck! I hate being sick, especially so close to traveling. I am a teacher and the whole month before my 1/2 marathon trip it seemed like the kids were all coming in coughing and sneezing like crazy! I was so worried that I would get sick and would have trouble running!

Hope you feel better soon. The upcoming trip should help you feel better!!

Thanks for the well wishes! I agree with you, nothing worse than being sick before a trip.....except being sick ON a trip!

Whoaaaaaaa! Minor break here. The Blue Angels just buzzed my house! Crazy loud! Very fun to have them practicing so close to our house today for their air show tomorrow. We plan to go out to see them fly on Sunday. Though I did take the boys out today for a quick look at some practice runs.

I just thought I'd check in with a medical report:
Me - I've definitely turned the corner toward feeling better. I'm not fully back yet, but I can tell I'm on my way. SOOOO HAPPY!
DS1 - His coughing has subsided quite a bit, and I can tell he's also really improving. Yeah!
DS2 - He has caught our plague. Bummer! Though I guess better now than next week, or in 2 days when it's his cousin's bday party. He's drinking water like a champ, and hopefully will get through this quickly.
DH - Still healthy! Of course he's been hiding in the office in the basement trying to get through his massive workload so he can be on vacation next week. Praying that he'll stay healthy!!!!!!

In other news.....man is it HOT here! I know I'm in good company with many others of you across the USA. It really feels just like it felt during our trip last year (which led me to my trip report title). At least I won't be in shock when I get to Florida this year! Maybe it will even feel cooler! :dance3: Though I'm not planning on it.
