Just faxed the resort!!

On the edge of our seats with excitement! We are leaving early Saturday morning from NH with a direct flight to Orlando; bringing my daughter's 12 year old best friend with us for the vacation. She's been once several years ago but hasn't seen or done much so my daughter can't wait to show her around. Staying at the AKL and just faxed this morning to ask for bunk beds and non-smoking room. We only have a standard view reserved though but I'm sure it will be fine. Just can't wait to get there. Any tips for us at this resort?

That's funny, I just finished faxing our resort also! We are leaving Massachusetts on Saturday for the GF. Thanks to the board, I had a pop up reminder on my computer to send in my room request. The only one I was really concerned about is a castle view for my DD. She's 6 years old and last night she fell off her bike and broke her thumb! She's seeing the orthopedic doctor this afternoon and I'm going to beg him for a fiberglass cast, so she can still swim. And yes, I unashamedly put this information on my fax to the room assignor.

My DH and I have reservations at Jiko's for July 31st. I'm looking forward to walking around the AKL and checking it out for maybe our next visit.

Have a wonderful trip and if you see a little girl with a cast on her left arm, say Hello!

Wow, bummer on the thumb...funny how we are both New Englanders going to Florida in the summer??? I will certainly say hello if we see you on the 31st at the AKL; 6 year old in a cast - gotta remember that. Enjoy your vacation; you'll love the GF; we stayed there way back in '95 and loved it...some day we'll stay there again

Until today, I think the weather has been hotter up here than in Florida! I would much rather go at a quieter and cooler time of year, but the schools are just really strict about time off.

Yes DD is now sporting a beautiful purple cast. I was able to get fiberglass, but the doctor didn't recommend getting it wet. He gave me info on a company that sells an inflatable that will fit over her cast and keep it dry. Now I have my fingers crossed that it will get here by this Friday.

DH and I are really looking forward to that quiet dinner at Jiko's now. We'll be the couple with the slightly stressed out looks on their faces.

Enjoy your trip. Should definitely be fun with two 12 year old girls. I have a 12 year old son and it's an interesting age to say the least. You are very brave!
