Hi all, I just recently got engaged(finally!:goodvibes) and have always dreamed of having a WDW wedding. I just have a few questions that I need answered. Please help if you can! We are looking at a wishes wedding with around 120 guests. We know we want the Wedding Pavilion, but we just have some questions.

1. Can I have a 5pm ceremony(Friday or Saturday) with a brunch reception the following day?
2. Will a rehearsal dinner go towards the min. expenditure?
3. Will I be able to fully customize the decor and favors?
4. Can I provide my own video/photographer for the ceremony?
5. Can I provide my own ceremony musician?
6. Are they welcoming with 'DIY' decor/favors?

Any help would be greatly appreciated in this exciting (yet very hectic!) time. Thank you all for your time and help!

Welcome, and congratulations! :goodvibes

1. Can I have a 5pm ceremony(Friday or Saturday) with a brunch reception the following day?

One of the requirements to hold a Wishes event is that you meet a food and beverage minimum on the day of your event. So the ceremony and reception have to be on the same day.

2. Will a rehearsal dinner go towards the min. expenditure?

No.

3. Will I be able to fully customize the decor and favors?

Yes. But if you mean can you bring your own decor, that depends on your location. Only the ballrooms allow you to work with outside vendors/have someone in your party set up major DIY decor. (Favors, place cards, and other stationery are OK at every location.)

4. Can I provide my own video/photographer for the ceremony?

Yes.

5. Can I provide my own ceremony musician?

No. All entertainment at the Wedding Pavilion must be provided by Disney.

6. Are they welcoming with 'DIY' decor/favors?

See above. :)

Thank you for such a quick response and great answers! I'm sad to hear that I won't be able to have a brunch reception with the evening wedding, but we will make it work.... I'm only getting married once (hopefully)!

If it's just the food you're after, you can serve whatever kind of cuisine you want at dinner—it doesn't have to be dinner food. And if you don't feel comfortable offering waffles and pancakes for dinner, you could do them as a late-night menu after a few hours of partying. :thumbsup2

I didn't even think of that! That is a great idea, I think that is what we will do. Thanks again!

My brother & his soon to be wife will be spending their honeymoon in Disney World. The wedding will not be at Disney. She just started the planning and read somewhere that she can open/start a Disney registry that allows her wedding guests to pay toward her honeymoon for upgrades to the room and/or other perks. She didn't seem to have a lot of info on it when she was explaining it to me. Neither of them have been to Disney World ever before much less planned anything this big. I'm hoping she is not confused. I have tried to tell her how I have planned my trips but she seems to want to do this herself. I don't blame her. I just wanted to know if this is actually a thing and how does it work?

What you're talking about is the Disney Honeymoon Registry (Disney.honeymoonwishes.com) it does charge higher fees than many similar registries though so that's something she should probably consider.

If I were her I'd register for Disney gift cards at Target, that way she gets ALL her money.
