Just Engaged and thinking about a Disney Wedding

Hi Everyone,

Wow so much information on this board. Well I just got engaged and we are thinking about doing a Disney Wedding. : My fiance and I are such big Disney Fans and would love to host our event there. If anyone can give me some getting started advice it would be so wonderful!!

Firstly... CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
You'll have so much fun planning your day... everyone on this board is very helpful.

I'll say start with looking at disneyweddings.com and see what you're interested in... escape or wishes wedding.

Fill out your wish book, that's where your disney coordinator will get the idea of your likes and preferences.

After that call disney and get yourself set up with a coordinator. She/he will help you with picking out your locations and writing up your contract (I think you have to be within a year of your event to book your location).

Then start surfing the web.

That is a fantastic site!! Thanks so much for that link!!! It explains so much more and so much clearer than the Disney site did! I've bookmarked it for future reference!

One caveat about the Wishbooks on Disney's site: they don't show you all your options, and the prices are almost all out of date. I stopped using mine once we signed our contract....

I did the survey and really let them have it in certain areas(kind of like DCL, not much info period on where the on board locations are, more current info($$, minimums etc) for recetion locations at WDW on OTHER WEBSITES, that's not buried in some small text.

In my opinion once you start "thinking" about having a Disney wedding you start having a disney wedding!!! If you are Disney fans there is really no place that captures that part of your relationship better! Of course, this is all my opinion!

great website, however i noticed it had a category of couture wedding?

is that something they still offer? as the wdw website only gives the options of wishes and escape.

if it is still available is anyone having one of these? or have had one?
