I thought it would be fun one night to go out someplace new and just do dessert....a cool "WOW" fun kind of dessert my kids and my parents will enjoy.
I know there must be some out there and we have only been to a handful of places to eat so just about anything would be new to us. Do the resturants frown on this?
I thought it would be a load of fun! :Pinkbounc

We have done it a few times La Cellier, I think the waiter was bummed (We left $12.00 tip for two. That should have made up for it.) 50's Prime Time no problem. I would suggest the Kitchen Sink, at Beaches and Cream at BC. (Very big ice cream sundea, everyone shares, has every thing you can think of on it, served in.... a kitchen sink.

Try Raglan road at pleasure island we tryed the bread and butter pudding to die for fun family place fun enertainment .
we were glade we went :cool1:

If you want a "wow" dessert for your kids - try the kiddie kone at Kona Cafe (Poly). We got it for our son as a surprise on our last trip and he was thrilled. It is a waffle cone, standing up, stuck to the plate with hardened melted chocolate...filled with chocolate and vanilla ice cream, covered in M&M's and a chocolate Mickey "swizzle" stick. Then they surround the bottom of the cone with blue cotton candy and more M&M's.

They also have some great adult treats - my DH got the chocolate macadamia nut torte (with coconut ice cream) and I got the Kilauaea Torte - chocolate cake with melted chocolate center and ice cream.

We stopped there around 3:00 in the afternoon and split an appetizer snack and then had desserts - it was a lot of fun.

Wherever you go, enjoy!!

I think this is a great idea! I was just wondering, if we do this should we make an ADR? It sort of seems silly to make an ADR and just eat dessert, but if we're there during the busy time of year (June) it would kind of make sense.

What other restaurants have yummy desserts?

Great thread! Thanks!

The 4 of us shared an "Avalanche" at Ghiradelli's soda fountain in DTD and it was fantastic. It was 8 scoops of icecream, 8 toppings, whipped cream, the works. We didn't come close to finishing it. And of course, no ADR needed!

You might want to try Sci-Fi, too. Great atmosphere and the regular food is only so so, not much above counter services, but we loved thier shakes and deserts (also have some good mixed drinks if you are interested). This is going to be a drinks/desert only place for us from now on b/c lousy food quality on the actual meal part.

I thought that I read somewhere recently that the characters do an ice cream thing somewhere -kinda like the tea party. Did anyone else hear of this? I'm remember something about Donald being involved. Am I crazy?

I would do the "Kitchen Sink" at Beaches N' Cream or a "Volcano" at Rainforest Cafe at DD or AK. Both would really impress anyone, not just kids!

They used to do an ice cream social at the Garden Grill, but they stopped this quite a while ago now...maybe a year ago?

... Whats the Volcano and how many would it feed? ...

It's several scoops of ice cream with chewy fudge cake on the sides and hot caramel and fudge sauce over all. It was more than enough for our family of four. It's soooo good that we're going back to Rainforest Cafe again, even though we're on the dining plan, just to get another one!

We do the same thing for the same reason. This trip my 16 year old daughter wants to share Sci-Fi with other band members and her boyfriend so we have an ADR to have drinks/snacks/dessert only.

we have an ADR to have drinks/snacks/dessert only.

Do you need to specify this when making a ressie?

Maybe call the restaurant and ask when would be the best time to do this? Last week DH and I were walking along the Boardwalk around 9:00 pm. We really wanted to have a beer at Big River Grille outside on the Boardwalk. We walked up to the check-in stand, told them we did not want to occupy a dinner table, but would it be possible to just sit and have a beer outside rather than go to the bar. They told us not to worry about it and happily sat us outside. At the time, there were only 2 empty tables outside, but by the time we finished our beers, almost the entire area had cleared out. By coming at the end of dinner, the waiters did not lose a "dinner" table and tip and we got to have our beer in a great atmosphere. :drinking1

No you don't, just make your ADR then go and order what ever you want.
