Just curious...what was the closing hours like for AK last year for early November?

I'm going early November and really want to see Ak at night.

We had to leave early when were were at AK this April.

So far Disney site has 5 pm as closing and read it might change so I was wondering those who been to AK last year, what was the closing hours like for the 1st/2nd week?

They didn't have night hours at AK last year, so it was probably 5pm. The night shows just started last month.

Forgive me for dumb question but I read people saying do the Safari ride at dusk. How did they ride them if park closes 5 pm and sun goes down after 5 pm? Or get those beautiful "lighted" Tree of Life pictures?

Animal kingdom just started staying open late as of memorial day weekend. It should be open late, or later than the norm which had been 5 and 6pm. This summer it's set for 11pm closing. Fall hours aren't out yet, but it will def be later...11 o'clock, don't know for sure, but closer to that than the early closings in the past.

Prior to AK at night, AK was usually open until around 7:00 PM Thanksgiving week (mostly). We have been at AK after dark several times. It is a beautiful park at night.

They had some night hours during peak times but there were no special events before last month. Safari closed before dark, the night Safari is new.

Nighttime hours at AK is brand new within the last month or two. The Safari at Dusk is new, the Jungle Book thing is new, and all the other nighttime stuff that's still coming is brand new. The park always closed at 5 or 6 (and maybe occasionally 7) in the past.

We were there last year over Christmas and AK was open until 9pm. We were able to ride EE 4+ times the last 45 min before the parked closed.
We are going Nov 15-22this year... Hoping they will extend the hours a little (keeping fingers crossed)
