Just curious how many Jennifer's are there here?

My maiden name was Moore - guess I could have been J-Mo - but that was long before Jennifer Lopez.

Funny story about the bar. I bet everyone does know at least 2 Jens

Hi! I'm Jennifer Rebecca and I'm 31! Most people call me Jenny or Jen and have my whole life. I don't hear Jennifer alot. My name DOES make J-Lo if you put it with my last name though. If I had a dime for everytime someone called me that (and trust me it is NOT because I look like her or sing like her! :p ) I'd be going to Disney twice a year! I don't care for it though...I'm not a huge J-Lo fan!

I can't believe all the Jennifers! I agree with the OP that I don't hear the name very much these days in children...has our time passed?? :scratchin

I'm not a Jennifer Lynn, I'm a Jennifer Laura.

I'm not a Jenny type either. My father tried to get that to be my nickname but it never did suit me. He, DH, and one of my aunts are the only ones who will still call me that.

The closest I've seen to Jennifer these days is Jenna. I know a couple little girls with that name.

My best friend growing up was Jennie, too, although she spelled it with an "ie" and I was a"y" ending. She was a Jennifer Lynn (wow! popular combo!) and I am a Jennifer Kay.

I'm also a Jenny Kay. LOL and my roomate college I mentioned earlier was a Jenny Lynne. Now that I have gotten married I am a J-Lo but only a couple people have called me that. Most times my friends make fun now that my initials are jkl.

Just curious... what's the "jenny" type? Or is there the "jenn" type?
I'm more of a "Jennifer" type and in my mind, it's just more formal. I think "Jenny" is more playful.

Another Jenn checking in here. And contrary to my screen name, I am NOT a Jenny... though some funny people call me that (or people who think they're funny!). I told my mom how I'm just not a Jenny type girl, and she says "oh, but that's why I named you Jennifer - because I love "Jenny"... OK... then why did you never call me that??

I was never just "Jenn" in school. There were always 3 or more Jennifers so we always were "Jenn H" and "Jenn F"

And I'm 31. :rolleyes1

I think I counted 25 - I only counted the posters who actual name was Jennifer (not kids or friends). It was hard too because of multiple post.

Add one more, I am Jennifer (not Jenny, but do go by Jen and Jenna) and I am 34!

I'm a Jen! (Jennifer, professionally, but Jen otherwise). And I'm 31.

I swore that, since I had such a common name while growing up, I wouldn't name my kids the popular names so they wouldn't have to deal with being the third one in class with the same name. So that pretty well ruled out Emma for us last year when our DD was born! ;)

ETA: and yup, my middle name is Lynn.

Hey, I knew a Jenny Lyn(n) who was a HUGE Disney fan.

If you're a Jenny Lyn, 30/31, worked in New York City in the late '90s, and had a rabbit as a pet, please PM me! We lost touch ages ago.

lol there are so many Jennifer's/Jen's/Jenn's/Jenny's. My sister is Jennifer Nancy and I have two friends who are also Jennifers (one is a diser who has yet to check in on this thread). I call my sister Jennifer or Jenny (but, she goes by Jen to everyone out of the family) another friend strictly goes by Jen, and my friend that is a diser I call jb, which doesn't really make sense anymore cos her last name changed when she got married, but I guess old habits die hard. BTW my sister is 28, my friend Jen is 26, and jb is 24.

We also have a second cousin who is named Jennifer with the same last name who for a time lived in the same community (same schools) you can imagine what a treat that was.

I'm a Jenifer(yes with one n), full name is Jenifer May (hence the username). I also go by Jeni or Jen. I'm 28

I'm Jennifer and 33. Most people do call me Jenn.

My mom said she named me after a commerical, as opposed the the popular film "Love Story." The commerical showed a mom pushing a little girl on a swing singing:
"Jenny Rebecca, I love you....."
I don't know the rest, bit was named Jennifer Rebecca.

My mom named me after Jennifer O'Neill, the actress- she was big in the 60's.

I remember two songs that really immortalized our name- "Jennifer Junifer" in the late 60's/early 70's, and the infamous "Jenny, Jenny/ 867-5309" by Tommy Tutone from the early 80's. Gosh, I hated that song!! The assistant mgr at Wendy's (my first job) used to sing it to me all the time- he thought it was hilarious.

My dd's name is Jennafer Lynn. She is 8. :)

I wanted to name her Jenna, but dh said Jenna was not formal enough. He felt when she was older she would prefer a formal name.

We call her Jenna, but most of her friends at school call her Jennafer.

There is one little girl in her grade, born on the same day even, named Jennifer. They are the only two in the school.

I'm not one, but my daughter, age 14, is a Jennifer, or Jen.

We'd heard that a jenny is a slang term for a *******, so we've tried to avoid calling her that!!

I have a 13 year old (soon to be 14) named Jennifer too. We use Jen and Jennifer too. When I had her, my step daddy got a little upset with her name and said, she's named after a stupid beer? :rotfl: I can assure you, I correct everyone when they call her Jenny. I think the beer is Genny (slang) isn't it? It's still the same if you're talking phonics!
