Just curious how many Jennifer's are there here?

Growing up I was called Jenny. Now it's mostly Jenn or Jennifer. I'm 28.
My DH has a popular (for his time) name also. Our kids do not have common names. I refused to name DD anything in the top 20, DS anything in the top 10.

How many of you have the middle name Lynn?

I;m Jennifer Lin - my mom spelled it differently though. I always wanted to tell you that. Don't know why.

I babysit for a Jennifer, but I call her Jen. She's 8 years old. :)

I had two other Jennifers when I taught preschool a few years ago - they would be ten and eleven now. So around here, the name is still used but certainly not super common. :)

Me, I am 30.

My mother NEVER  allowed anyone to call me Jenny (the black sheep in our extended family).

Hi..another Jenn here, Most call me Jenn some call me Jennifer. Only a select few call me Jenni. :wave2:

I am a Jenny Lynn! Yep, my mom not only picked one of the most common first names of the day, she paired it with one of the most common middle names.

My DD is Jennifer Lin too!!! (but that's because my maiden name was Lin, so I gave it to her as a middle name)

Wow. In all my 37 years I never knew another Jennifer Lin spelled that way. :cool1:

I guess there even more Jennifers here than I thought because so many screen names don't have Jen in them.

My daughter(8) is Jennifer and I think she is the only one at her school of almost 650 K-2. I don't think there are any Jennifers at my school either 3-5and another 630 students...the band teacher is a Jennifer though.

When I was in school I was in a class with 4 Sheilas...two white...two black and the real kicker was that my last name sounded alot like the other white Sheilas and we had similar hair styles and body size. We both wore the same style glasses only heres were silver frames and mine were gold....she was a trouble maker and I was a good girl but I got confused with her several times......NOT fun. Also the two black Sheilas also had similar sounding last names so I think the teacher finally just called us #1,#2,#3,#4.

Another Jen - 31

When I was in high school, I played varsity soccer. Out of 12 of us on the field, 7 were Jen's. I would have given anything for a different name.

Jen

I'm a Jen. I'm 27. One of my best friends growing up was a Jen as well so my group of friends got in the habit of calling us by our first and last name. To this day I say "Hi Jenny H________!" Silly, but I've known here since third grade so it stuck.

I'm not a Jennifer, but this reminds me of something that my DBrother36 told me once. He lived in Chicago and said that he was real good at picking up girls in bars using the line "Hey, remember me? I'm Jen's friend!) He said that EVERY girl has at least 2 friends named Jen. :rotfl2:

ETA: I'm, 39 and I have 5 friends named Jen. :earseek:

I'm Jennifer
and I'm 28.

I prefer Jenn...I think I'm in trouble if you call me Jennifer...and I won't talk to you if you call me Jenny (no offense - I'm not the "jenny" type).

I was 1 of 5 jennifer's (at least) in my HS graduating class.
Funny - my best friend was jennifer...she has a brother 3 years younger that was named David. (I also have a brother, 3 years younger, named David)

I was called by my last name (incorrectly - as it was 'Robert' but they all called me Roberts) for many many years...through college too. My brother called me J-Ro for a while.

The girl who was the maid of honor in my WEDDING still calls me Roberts. heheheh

My maiden name was Moore - guess I could have been J-Mo - but that was long before Jennifer Lopez.

Funny story about the bar. I bet everyone does know at least 2 Jens

Another Jennifer checking in! I will answer to Jennifer, Jenny, Jen, Hey You, :teeth: just about anything. I was Jenny until I finished college- then Jennifer at work. No one ever called me Jen until I met DH- his whole family calls me that, so I am used to it and actually prefer it now!

I'm 39, and it seems the name really became popular the year or so after I was born. I went through school with almost no Jennifers in my grade, but lots starting the year after mine. My mom actually named me Jennifer because she said she thought it was "pretty and unusual" at the time- 1966.

My best friend growing up was Jennie, too, although she spelled it with an "ie" and I was a"y" ending. She was a Jennifer Lynn (wow! popular combo!) and I am a Jennifer Kay.
