Just curious how many Jennifer's are there here?

I'm a Jennifer Nora - I have always gone by Jenny. Only my sisters and parents call me Jen, never Jennifer. I am 33. There were always at least two other Jenny's in my class growing up.

Oh my I never thoought this thread would be up to 5 pages!!! I guess we do have a pretty common name.

Count is up to 31 Dissers.

I'm Jennifer and 33. Most people do call me Jenn.

My mom said she named me after a commerical, as opposed the the popular film "Love Story." The commerical showed a mom pushing a little girl on a swing singing:
"Jenny Rebecca, I love you....."
I don't know the rest, bit was named Jennifer Rebecca.

I'm going to have to check with my mom and see if that's the story of how I became Jennifer Rebecca too!! We never talked about how I was named. I am 31, so it's possible our mom's saw the same commercial!! Hmmmm.... :scratchin

That' a good question, I was just at a bridal shower and there were 3 Jennifers there. I might change mine from Cynthia to Jennifer..........maybe its a new trend

I was named after one of my Dad's all time favorite song "Jennifer Juniper" by Donovan.
He wanted my middle name to be Juniper but my Mother but her foot down because Jennifer was bad enough (she prefered Jenna). I always thought it was weird I was named after the song because the girl he's singing about is blonde and fair and I'm definitely neither of the two

I go by Jen or Jennifer. I'm 34.

Edited to add:
I'm a Jennifer Ann. As I child I was called Jennie. However, I would never want anyone to call me that now. Jen with one N for me.

My dearest friend is Jennifer Lynn but goes by Jenn (she's two Ns = In high school that is how people defined us). LOL!

I am a Jennifer Lindsay - 27. I go by Jen.
It is so funny about the "Jennifer Lynn", I know some that have that combo of first/middle name too!

"I was named after one of my Dad's all time favorite song "Jennifer Juniper" by Donovan"

This is where my name came from to. :)

Eric here and I'm.... oops, wrong thread, sorry!

Actually, my MIL is Jennie (not Jennifer, or even Jenny).

I'm a Jennifer (Irene), except at work where everyone calls me Jenn.
I'm 40, and my Mom said she named me after Jennifer Jones, an actress.
I had 3 friends in school named Jennifer, 2 of my previous jobs had Jennifers, 1 had 3 and 1 had 9!! We all had to go by different versions or add an initial, I was JennW.
I have 2 niece-in law's Jenny's and a cousin Jennie.

In a, sort of, non-Jenn related note, everyone in my family starts with "J" -Jack, Jeanne, Judith, Jack, Janet, Jim, So, When it came time to name me, my parents wanted Joy Noel, my siblings vetoed it in favor of Jennifer.

I remember two songs that really immortalized our name- "Jennifer Junifer" in the late 60's/early 70's,

I believe it's "Jennifer Juniper"...which is actually how I got my name. Althought I didn't know it until I was 17.

At 17 I was working that the super glamourous Taco Bell...and had alot of friends there (we were all pretty close knit and got along well on and off shift). One of the shift managers was bored one day and made us all new name tags...mine was Jennifer Juniper...and he actually sang me the song.

I got home that day..my mom saw my new name tag and started cracking up...she said "That was my favorite song in the 70's! That's actually how you got your name!"

You're right- I couldn't think of what that second word was! I vaguely remember hearing that song as a very little kid.

As I said in my earlier post, the one I got teased about was "Jenny, Jenny/867-5309" in the early 80's. A song with my name in it, and the girl is trampy :teeth: !!

I can't even tell you how many little girls I babysat for with the name Jennifer- it seemed to be most popular in the mid 70's through the early 80's.

I'm a Jennifer! My husband calls me Jen. I HATE Jenny - yet my parents still call me by that!

I am 24 years old.

The worst for me was when Forrest Gump came out. People would call me Jenny in the Forrest voice. It was SO annoying!

My family all starts with J also, as does my DH. So that led to another baby naming rule- no J's!

Jen-nay

heheheh

So far me, DH and the dog are all J's. heheheh

Yeah the Forrest Gump bit got pretty old pretty fast.
My brother is also a J (Actually our initials were both JMC) but my Mother couldn't find a J name she liked when my sister was born so she's an AMC. Her name is Ashley - one of the most popular girl names for her age (21) - her group of pals in high school were Ashley, Ashli, Ashley, Ashleigh, Lindsay, Lindsey, and Ellen. :rotfl:
