When first announced, many folks on the boards were concerned this Aug. 23 event would sell out fast...even before offered to general public. So at this stage (approx. 60 days from event) does anyone officially know if tickets are still available or if it's sold out? Thanks

I have yet to hear a single report of people saying they were told the event was sold out. So tickets should still be available.

Tickets are still available online, so I would say no...it isn't sold out!

And since it's not sold out, I'm now afraid about just how many tickets they're selling!! Is this going to be a total mob scene like last year's event?

No, this is a paid event so that will control numbers. Also Disney was taken by surprise at how many people turned up, it was out of control to get around property that night.

I know they can control numbers, but will they sell to capacity? Or close to it? Obviously, the number they had in there last year wasn't past capacity. So could they let that same number of people in again--just with tickets this time? I certainly hope not, but more tickets means more money for them!

they may sell to the capacity of the event, which is not necessarily the full capacity of the park. For example the hard ticket parties at the MK, while they have been increasing the number of tickets sold, are still nowhere near the park's full capacity (the amount of guests on a regular day that would have to be inside the gates before they closed the park to further entry).

If they pack in in and the crowds are similar to last year I will want part if not all of my money back. I know they are non-refundable..but if they expect me to pay $67 to be crammed in like a sardine I will not be a happy munchkin  That being said I have hope that they learned their lesson from last as evidenced by the fact that they have turned it to a hard ticket event.

Well my thought is that on these boards an event like this is well publicized and many people interested and ready to buy. However, though there are many people who frequent these boards, we are probably still a small population of overall Disney guests within a year.

So, though we may think this event will sell fast, probably the general public at large has no idea that it's happening or interest in spending more money...and that get's me hoping that it may not be as overly crowded as we anticipate.

Also, this may be a last-minute purchase for those who will be visiting Disney that week yet are not aware of this event and probably won't be until they arrive.

I'm sure we're all hoping it won't be overly crowded, but unfortunately we won't know until we get there. I was just thinking that this would be a very popular event for locals and if so, maybe they won't buy tickets until day of or day before event. Who knows...
