i thought about the amount of rain in month of september 08 and the thunder which my daughter would hate and decided to go for relieble october 08 and buy the deluxe dining plan how will the crowds be as it is halloween will it be like this easter when we went

It depends on the dates in mid Oct. The Food & Wine Festival is in Oct so it can be busy. Does your dates include Columbus Day weekend? That weekend can be very crowded but then after that it'll be busy but not too bad.

To the OP: Did you say that you had free dining for September 2008??? That offer hasn't actually been released yet, has it?

We were offered it (and accepted it) just before we checked out on September 13th this year. It was part of the bounce back program for 2008.

That's odd. We checked out on September 3rd but never received this offer. That's ok though because we are going on a DCL cruise next year instead of visiting the World but still odd.

We wouldn't have known about it either, had it not been for the friendly people on our resort bus the night before we left. They asked if we were returning (you know how sometimes you just "click" with people) and how we liked it, etc. We said we were, but would probably come in October to avoid some of the heat. They were all over themselves to let us know we should come in September again and be able to take advantage of the dining plan again. They even told us about a brochure that had been left in their room one day telling about it. We never got a brochure, but thanks to them, we did stop at the Custom's House that night on the way back and got information and a phone number to call to make the ressie.

I just love when you run into good people at Disney! :cloud9:

Darn it! We didn't book because the brochure we got in our room said come back next September. I didn't want to take the kids out of school in Sept again next year, but I'd have done it in Oct. I didn't think Oct was an option, so I didn't book.

I thought the bounce-back offer was only good if you booked for September 08 - not October.

The dates for the bounceback free dining in 2008 are still 8/30-9/27/08 as far as I've heard. Some guests have been able to book check-ins within those dates for stays that extend into October.

I believe the OP decided to change their bounceback free dining reservation to one in October without free dining; they're buying the deluxe dining plan.
