Just cancelled my January 2021 trip...sad.

I had up to November 30 to do the cancellation, but the reality is I'm just not comfortable with the way things are going. I'll be losing 23 banked BCV points, its a pittance to what some have lost. I'd love to be in the parks at reduced capacity, but it's not happening for me. 😥 I hope someone gets their waitlist fulfilled. More points to use next year. Roll on Food and Wine Festival.

Sorry to hear you and CarolMN are both cancelling your trips. We still plan to go, I sure hope it happens. I need to get away, we haven't been anywhere since our last trip which ended in Feb of this year. I could really use a change in scenery.

Me too, sorry for those who are cancelling.

We are hoping to go!!

I feel for you. We haven't been anywhere since last Nov. and we canceled our Oct trip at the end of July so we could still bank our points by our use or lose UY date. DH still wanted to go but I was the hold-out.

We still have a trip booked for the end of Feb / beginning of March but I'm not sure if that will be enough time for me to feel like going if they don't change current operations. I really don't want to go with so many restrictions. And no AP's. There's been no price reduction to offset the reduced park hours and limited experiences (ie no parades or shows or fireworks). Sadly the value is not there for me to spend a fortune on regular park tix and not even be able to park hop or select my meals from a full menu. Then there's the whole mask thing. We wear them in public at home but usually for short periods of time. Not all day every day. Lots to consider before I fully commit to the Feb trip.....

We have a lot of points that would we could now use to go to Aulani next year but it's not looking like Hawai'i is going to really open up any time soon either as they went back into lockdown. This year just can't end soon enough.

We cancelled our January 2021 trip too, at the beginning of the pandemic. We're losing some banked BLT points. But the risk of long distance travel and the uncertainty of the rapidly evolving situation really left no other option.

Big hugs to you, hopefully we'll be booking our next trip before long!

I feel ya. Most likely still going in Dec, but not happy for a few reasons. No parades (specifically Very Merry Xmas as of right now), limited restaurants (specifically Ohana and Cape May), and limited park hours. I really hope FP is brought back if they’re going to increase capacity. I don’t want to be standing in lines all day and hit about 5 rides. I’m ok with masks. I’ll deal with that. I have a 5day park pass and might just use 2 and have more of a relaxing resort trip and hope for better times next year.

My last trip was Feb 8 - 15 this year. I really wanted to go, good luck with your trip.

I feel for you. I was going to try for OKW villa at 7 month mark for Jan. Was going to take along DD 2 friends and DS friend. My sister nephew, great nephew. And do a VIP tour, cabana at water park and a possible dark side day. Didn’t even look to book it.

We have week long January and February reservations. We gifted the January stay to friends. Now, I'm not even sure if I feel good going in February. I'm on pins and needles over it. Want to go....but do I want to sit on a plane?

Totally agree with you on FP. It seems like wait times have been increasing and I know people keep saying a 30 minute wait is low for X ride, but most of us on Disboards are FP ninjas, so we're used to not waiting more than 10-15 minutes.

I haven't decided whether to cancel my January reservation or not, yet. The 46 banked 2019 points used would be good until June 1, 2020, if I cancel. And the 22 points from 2020 would still be within the banking window, so at most I'd lose or rent 46 points, if I cancel in early December. So I'm in a good position to wait and see what happens between now and then.

Our Feb 2021 cruise ... was cancelled by the cruise line. Sigh. It was a major event: milestone anniversary; the completion of our "world cruise in segments" (something we've been working on for ~22 years) and a really cool ship. Oh, well ... sigh.

Sorry to hear, but I understand. I had been planning a large family trip for December (what I wanted is still available :( ) but no one will go. So, I booked something for January, hoping that some will go. It will probably end up being just DH and me, but I'm not sure we feel comfortable so I still may cancel or move to later. I have 200 2019 banked to use by 5/31... I want to use those points!

Still hoping to go in January.

Interestingly, I'm not worried about being in WDW, it's the travel to / from that I'm still uncomfortable with. Wish I could just snap my fingers and be there. Also, thinking of switching resorts and renting a car (unless we decide to drive).... ugh.

Really, with everything up in the air (will there be APs? What will be open/closed at Poly now? Will more restaurants be open? Less? Will there be fireworks yet?) it's really very hard to make plans. We really want to be there, but don't even know what we will do. We don't even use the pools.

We are on the fence about our December trip. I'm waiting until mid October to make a decision.

That's the way I feel, too. DH and I have to drive from MD so, if no one else goes to help drive (I'm not good for driving long distances), we will have to decide if we can do it alone without staying overnight somewhere. Changing plans to HH is not much better.
