just cancelled 12/3 trip

After spending more than 1000.00 to fix my car last week and not knowing how much my annual incentive bonus will be I cancelled my trip. Things are just too tight and w/out knowing what the bonus will be I can't justify the trip. I'm so bummed out! Would have been our first Xmas trip and I was so looking forward to the decorations.

On a brighter side- if I get a nice bonus dh has vacation time in January and we'll do a quick trip midweek just him and I....

Send pixie dust my way so that the January trip is possible! Luckily I kept the trip a secret so the kids aren't disappointed. We do have leftover passes from Busch Gardens(we're FL residents) so maybe we'll take them there that weekend.

You did the responsible thing, and I'll bet in the end you have a nice little trip in January to make up for your current disappointment. Plan something else special but low cost for December - some sort of a fun little consolation prize that you can look forward to and take your mind off what you missed.

thanks all for the well wishes. We'll just have to concentrate on a couple trip in Jan- will probably look at the Dolphin. Don't want to spring for the Poly and if it's dh & I alone I would rather do S/D over a mod or Pop

I'm sure I can find a way to enjoy BG and also find somethings around here!

I can sympathize with you. My DH and I were supposed to be in WDW tomorrow. We were taking an early flight out and spending the week. We cancelled because DH father is very ill and I just didn't feel right going on vacation and having fun when he is so sick. I too will miss seeing Disney with all of the holiday decorations, MVMCP, etc. But, there is always another time.

I feel your pain! We had to cancel our holiday trip last December due to some health and money troubles, and I know how heartbreaking and disappointing it can be.

I've seen so many posts on Disney boards where people are asking how much things cost down to the dime because they really can't afford to go, but are going anyway. There's one woman I recall whose DH works seasonally on and off, has a bunch of kids, can't make payments with no health insurance, and still lists her upcoming trips. Makes me wonder and worry for them. You did the responsible (not fun!) thing and hope you get there in Jan.

Lots and lots of pixie dust your way. I just spent a long weekend sweating the possibility of having to cancel out of a family reunion trip for 11/30 due to my own health concern. Luckily, I got the go ahead from the doctor two days ago... but I know the agony and disappointment you must feel.

Just know that you absolutely did the right thing and I just know that things will work out in your favor for January!
