So I haven't been around in a while because of school and work. But we're planning an August 18, 2008 Disney wedding and I am so excited.
I've already been in contact with Disney, was penciled in, and have a site inspection scheduled for this Friday (we leave in 3 days!!).
I just called Disney, started dialing at 8:30, to officially book. After being on hold for fifteen minutes at work, I had to switch phones. It took forever for the answering service to not pick up. Then I finally a Cast Member who was very nice.
I gave all my information again, told her where we want the wedding, and she said she would give it all to a cooridinator and that I would hear back in one to two business days. I just hope we can get our date and place. I'm so impatient with waiting for phone calls. Think it would be too pushy if I called later this afternoon to let them know that I'll be down there in 72 hours and will have the deposit already for them?
So now I don't know what to do to pass the time until I hear back...:hourglass
Maybe it's time to start a planning journal?

Since you are going to be there so soon, I think I'd call back either later today or tomorrow...just to let them know.

Unless things have changed, I think there may have been a miscommunication...your call will be returned by a Sales Manager who will help you set up/schedule some of the basics (depending on where you are planning your location/reception).

Are you having a Wishes (custom) or an Escape (intimate)?

Some locations can be booked 12 months out, but some can only be booked 8 months out (and I apologize I never kept all that straight).

I believe (but could be mistaken) you will not be assigned a coordinator until later in the process.

However, that does not mean that you cannot get some things going when you are down there this weekend! They may be able to speed up some processes with you!

Good luck!

I'm having a Wishes wedding at Sea Breeze Point (if I can get it).
I knew that I talk to a Sales Manager first, I just couldn't remember what they're called. I always get confused between the two. As for the booking, I was told a few times that Wishes weddings can now book at 12 months, and I think it even says so on the website. I could be wrong though. But I do know that because we want Ariel's for the reception that I should be able to do that at the twelve month mark.
I'm still really new to all of this, so thanks for the help!:goodvibes

SBP is a good choice!;)

I'm sure other brides can help you on the Ariels part...that's the kind of stuff I could never keep straight! (I had an intimate wedding, so we didn't have to worry about that). You are correct that you can book your ceremony location at 12 months, I just wasn't sure about the reception stuff.

Good luck with your planning and enjoy the visit to WDW this week!!
