First time I've ever seen anything like this when buying tickets.

Important Update
Capacity for Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge and its experiences is limited. Access to the park, land and experiences may be restricted or unavailable depending on guest demand and other factors.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will not be available at opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and will open later this year.

Sure sounds like they are expecting huge crowds when SWGE opens and are covering all the bases in case they have to deny access. Sadly, it sure looks like paid options are coming.

Did the price go up on the APs? Disney increased the 1 day and multi-day ticket today.

I'm sure they are expecting huge crowds. Special tours and paid options may indeed be on the horizon, at least for a while. But I doubt a large percentage of families could afford paid options, so they'd also be fighting some bad publicity, I think...so the paid options would likely have very limited availability.

@BillPA
AP's did NOT increase today. After seeing the 'regular' tix increase, we decided to buy the Gold AP's now for our August trip...just in case an AP increase is coming soon.

It actually says that on the main Walt Disney World website. First thing you see when you go to the main site.

They want to be as upfront as possible

Yeah I think they know all hell is about to break loose :headache:

It's only a general warning about crowds and capacity.
I don't think they can block the Gold APs from entering if they are letting folk in at all. The Gold AP calendar is showing green on the days up through December 18:

Went online to buy our Gold AP's today thinking that a AP increase is probably not far off. Saw the Disney warnings about capacities. We will be there in Oct for the F&W, hoping that the crowds aren't insane, so at least RNR & TOT are accessible. :rolleyes1

No, but like many others, I read that some tickets went up without the usual day or two notice, so I decided to buy the APs now instead of waiting.

I am trying to wait as patiently as possible for the 2020 black out dates...trying to figure out our ticket strategy for 2020/2021...

We have spring break 2020 starting the weekend of the Star Wars Run Disney Race which we want to be in...but it’s the weekend after Easter so I am worried the Friday after Easter might be on the blockout!

If you buy an AP voucher, how long do you have to activate it? For example, if I bought a voucher now, but then didn't activate it until a trip next year, would that work?

Yes.

I bought yesterday. It automatically linked to my MDE account and shows an expiration of 12/31/2030. You activate the pass at WDW at a theme park or water park ticket window, or any Guest Relations location. You will need to show a valid photo ID and DVC membership card to pick up your pass.

You will be able to make FP+ reservations when the window opens even if the pass has not been activated.

Dumb question. We have never bought AP’s. As a dvc member, can I buy a gold AP but not activate it for a couple of years?

I need to renew my pass at the end of this month..I have a Platinum Plus because of the special last year, but I'm going back to gold. My current pass expires May 31, but I have a trip starting June 4. I need to renew so I can book fastpasses April 5.

Chuck can you comment to my question above?

Yes - we do this all the time. You can buy and link to an MDE profile and not use (but when you activate - you must still be DVC).

You can change the MDE profile it’s assigned to prior to first use.

But that new person must be a member or live at the members address and have a photo ID that proves that to enable the AP.

Thanks! Will definitely keep this in mind

Yes - unless it was a special deal that requires activation by a certain date, like the one that offered the 13 month pass. If you buy now, it's just SOP, so you can buy and exchange for an actual activated AP when you're ready.

Good way to protect from price increases if you can afford to tie up the $$ until you are ready to activate. I've not found that the increases really justify buying too far in advance. Life happens, so I'd prefer not to assume I'll always be able to go (or want to go) or keep my membership. YMMV.
